Valorant regularly offers fun scenes shared on reddit. This time, a particularly bold action is the hit. A fearless, cheeky player snatches the certain victory from the overwhelmingly superior enemy practically from under their nose.
What happened? In Valorant the teams are randomly split into two factions. One team consists of the attackers, who must place a bomb, the Spike, at a target area and ensure that it detonates. The defenders must prevent this by eliminating the attackers or at least defusing the bomb.
In one round of Valorant, the defenders had no luck. They were completely overrun and thoroughly trampled into the dust. While the enemy team was still intact, only two defenders remained.
It was a seemingly hopeless situation, as killing an entire team from such a severe disadvantage is possible but very rare. However, one of the remaining players proved that he didn’t even need to fight if he had nerves of steel and the audacity of a weasel.
Masterful “Ninja Defuse” secures victory at the last moment
Here’s how the action unfolded: The player and reddit user named ZingerStackerBox was unwilling to accept the certain defeat. So he crouched in the target area and activated a single smoke grenade, a skill of his hero Brimstone.
While his remaining buddy tried to fight the enemies and was swiftly taken down, ZingerStackerBox remained calm in his smoke cloud. He saw nothing, but the enemies could not see him either and just assumed that the smoke cloud was still a remnant of the last battle.
From within the cloud, one could clearly hear how the entire enemy team was marching through and lining up to place the bomb. Right next to ZingerStackerBox’s hideout.
When the cloud finally dissipated, the enemies were just about to finish up. One player was just completing the bomb placement.
How he turned the match around: Meanwhile, ZingerStackerBox sneaked directly behind the enemy and stayed skillfully out of their line of sight. The enemy never saw him and just ran on when the bomb was finished. ZingerStackerBox could have easily taken out the bomb planter and another enemy from behind. But then there would still have been 3 enemies left who could have killed him.
Therefore, he started to defuse the bomb immediately after it was planted. Normally, this is indicated to the enemy with an alarm sound, but since they had placed the bomb just a split second before, they somehow missed it and just kept running. A few seconds later, the bomb was defused and the game was won. ZingerStackerBox had single-handedly outwitted the entire enemy team without firing a single shot.
How the team reacted: The audacious action by ZingerStackerBox was met with great applause from his team. Curiously, one of the teammates said, “He did it again!”. And indeed, such “Ninja Defuses”, as this action is called in Counter-Strike jargon, are the specialty of this player. On reddit, he has even documented further evidence of his incredible audacity.
