Console Tenno of the free-to-play space shooter Warframe is expecting a fairy, a major fusion change, and some long-awaited TennoGen items designed by players later today.
The (razor-sharp) fairy
What has almost become routine for PC players of Warframe is now making its way to consoles PS4 and Xbox One. “The Silver Grove” brings a lot with it. So feed your Kavats again and get ready for a journey into the magical world of the update overview.
With Titania, a character inspired by mystical and enchanting legends, you can now swarm your opponents in miniature form and truly annoy them, as with her ultimate she shrinks to half her size and can fly through the level. She switches her equipped weapons out of nowhere to the Dex Pixia, a dual submachine gun, and the Diwata, a heavy blade.
What other tricks the clever fairy has up her sleeve can be examined more closely below. But beware: Don’t let the colorful lights distract you too much!
You can either purchase the razor-sharp fairy on the market using real-money currency Platinum, or simply play her quest, where New Loka asks you for help, as it literally gets hot on Earth.
By players, for players
What is everyday life for PC players of Warframe… Sounds familiar? Right, but after what seems like an endless period of (almost) absolute PC exclusivity of the TennoGen items, the first 5 skins of the recent times are finally making their way to consoles as well. The reason for this, according to statements from the developer Digital Extremes (DE), were legal matters that apparently weren’t so easy to resolve.
These items are skins and syandanas created by players. From time to time, developer DE encourages the community to submit their own ideas. After that, the player base has the opportunity to vote on the best designs, which then find their way into the game and are available for purchase for anyone interested.
The respective creator even receives 30% of the total revenue from their design. Yes, you read that right: Getting involved with Warframe can potentially bring you a few bucks.
More decoration & weapons
In addition to the mentioned TennoGen items, there are also two new operator outfits to spruce up your little permanent resident in the back of the spaceship. Additionally, the Xiphos gets two new paints, Titania brings her alternative helmet “Aurai”, and the Nova Deluxe Skin Collection also makes its way to the market, as well as the Tekelu Collection, which includes various skins in a black-metallic design.
New shooting and slicing toys are also part of the deal.
- Sarpa – melee weapon – emphasizes curved strikes with heavy salvos.
- Heliocor – melee weapon – Each strike brings more knowledge! This massive hammer performs a codex scan with each lethal blow.
- Pox – secondary weapon – These putrid sores of pus and gas explode on impact.
The Endo of fusion cores
With “The Silver Grove,” it’s time to say goodbye to your fusion cores and welcome the new resource “Endo”.
The old system of upgrading mods had some hidden quirks. For example, a mod of the same polarity as the one you wanted to upgrade gave more points than one that didn’t match. Additionally, there was no indication of a concrete value of how much was still needed for the next higher level.
To simplify the process, fusion can now exclusively be conducted with the resource Endo. This can, like any other resource, drop from enemies within missions. You can also convert your unwanted and duplicate mods into Endo.
Lunaro & Glyphs
Finally, the Warframe recreational sport Lunaro receives a new map, styled after Steel Meridian with ramps and side nets. Additionally, there’s finally a dedicated pass button, as well as the ability to defend while holding the Lunaro ball.
Those who have always wanted to leave their mark in the level can now do so with the new glyphs. You can plaster everything to your liking. And those who have diligently read up to this point can indulge in many colorful images once again. But don’t forget: The bright light is still taboo!
