The latest Warframe expansion finally has a target release date. However, it’s quite absurd – and surprisingly colorless.
Warframe is a good example of games that have massively evolved over the years and share little with their original version. From a pure multiplayer action slaughterhouse in 2013, it has developed into a multifaceted game with numerous modes and expansions by 2023. The next expansion is now just around the corner, as the developers have finally announced the release of “The Duviri Paradox.”
However, for this expansion, you should prepare for a few rather unusual approaches, as Warframe breaks with some conventions of recent years. “The Duviri Paradox” takes place in the fractured world of the mind of “Dominus Thrax,” the “mad child king.” Because that sounds not only strange but should also play strangely, the entire game world starts out in black and white and has a generally dull, monotonous coloring.
The further you decipher the puzzles and complete tasks, the more colors – and thus also emotions – you bring back into the game world. New colors not only have optical impacts but also change the behavior of the NPCs and enemies encountered here.
3 game modes are supposed to provide fun in the Duviri Paradox
Warframe has long been trying to appeal to different player groups with various game modes. Therefore, there is a lot to do in the new expansion, and 3 game modes are the focus.
- The Circuit: An endless game mode just for the Warframes.
- The Duviri Experience: This is the main game mode with all side objectives and the way the expansion is supposed to be played.
- The Lone Story: This is the campaign of the expansion, which can only be experienced solo. Those interested in the – admittedly quite bizarre – story of the expansion can spend a few interesting hours in the psyche of Dominus Thrax and explore the secrets behind the colors and the drama.
It’s also interesting that the expansion is supposed to be available for both veterans and new players. Therefore, your progress in Warframe should not affect whether you can play “The Duviri Paradox.”
When will the expansion be released? Even though an exact release date is still pending, the release has now been set for “in April 2023.” Accordingly, it will take about 2 more months at worst before Warframe fans can dive into this new and somewhat crazy adventure to confront the mind of Dominus Thrax.
