For the upcoming Western shooter Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4 and Xbox One), the pre-order bonuses from Microsoft have apparently been leaked. They promise powerful steeds, but no online features.
What happened? Red Dead Redemption 2 – the long-awaited Western shooter from Rockstar – is set to be released on October 26, 2018, for Xbox One and Playstation 4. However, the bonuses for pre-ordering have apparently been leaked due to an accident at Microsoft.
In an entry in the Microsoft Store, the bonuses for pre-order customers were briefly visible. They have since been removed, but savvy users have posted screenshots online.
Horse and Virtual Dollars for Preorder
What are the pre-order bonuses? According to the leak, the following goodies are available for eager fans who pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 before release:
- The mount “War Horse”
- An “Outlaw Survival Kit”
- A cash bonus for the story mode of Red Dead Redemption 2
- 500,000 GTA dollars for GTA Online
- An exclusive treasure map for the story mode of Red Dead Redemption 2 (Only for pre-orders made before July 31, 2018)

Of course, these details may still change. Other providers and retailers may have different offers for the game.
What about online features?
What’s noticeably absent: Online features! Does Red Dead Redemption 2 not have an online mode at launch? This wouldn’t be new for Rockstar. With GTA 5, the online mode was also missing at launch and was only added two weeks later.
Is there even an online mode coming? At least the existence of the online mode seems assured. Rockstar hasn’t provided any concrete information on it yet, but the expectation is that such a mode will come. After a leak, there was even speculation that Red Dead Redemption 2 would emphasize online play even more than GTA 5.
Regarding a possible PC version of Red Dead Redemption, the developer is still silent, even though they are aware of the importance of this platform.
