Since August 3rd, the fourth season of WoW: Shadowlands is live. Almost two weeks later, there is now a trailer created by a WoW fan that has the community excited.
Who created the trailer? The new trailer for Shadowlands Season 4 was released on the official YouTube channel of World of Warcraft. However, it is mentioned in the video description that the trailer was created by the YouTuber IKedit.
IKedit has collected over 102,000 subscribers on his channel and shares custom WoW cinematics there, with the most recent video being over a year old (via YouTube).
“This trailer has more work in it than the patch itself”
How did the trailer from IKedit go down? About a day after the release of the trailer for Shadowlands Season 4, it had nearly 26,000 views and 1,276 “likes”. Users in the comments are highlighting the quality of the video (via YouTube).
- xaoc: “The work of this person is truly amazing. They really build the hype and show great cinematography.”
- Lord of the Warcraft: “This is genuinely really well made, no irony.”
- Theo Bazinga: “Whoever makes these trailers is just brilliant!”
Some users, however, couldn’t resist a small jab at Blizzard. For example, ‘Zayer htet Win’ wrote that “the best thing Blizzard has done is to hire this video creator.”
A similar sentiment was expressed by YouTuber user Quste, who was noticeably more critical of Blizzard in their comment: “This trailer has more work in it than the patch itself.”
What do you think? Does Shadowlands Season 4 live up to this trailer, or are you less enthusiastic? Feel free to let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments!
MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus has also dealt with the criticism of Season 4, but he finds World of Warcraft to be more fun than it has been in a long time.
Somehow everyone hates Season 4, but I am enjoying WoW more than ever
