Stormhaven Studios is the indie studio behind the upcoming MMORPG Embers Adrift. One of the founders, John Gust, presents the game in a short video on YouTube.

Previously, Embers Adrift was known by a completely different title: “Saga of Lucimia”. The game will be a sandbox MMORPG set in a medieval environment. More details about the content were revealed in the video and on the game’s official website.
What Players Can Expect in Embers Adrift
What is said in the video? “Embers Adrift is different from other modern MMOs,” the developer says in the video. He further explains that the game combines design principles from tabletop RPGs with classic MMOs as players know them. This way, both veteran MMO players and newcomers can enjoy the game.
The gameplay is designed to challenge the player while also making character progression noticeably impactful.
In combat situations, even small decisions can determine victory or defeat. He names the key aspects of the gameplay: exploration, crafting, combat, and adventurous quests with friends.
What does the gameplay of Embers Adrift include? A large part of the gameplay is said to consist of players exploring an open world. The developers emphasize pure PvE, which is why the game currently will not feature PvP. In addition to exploration, crafting is also expected to play an important role in Embers Adrift.
What the developers want to avoid are monotonous farming missions. The quests in the game are intended to advance the story in Embers Adrift and provide appropriate rewards.
Additionally, Embers Adrift aims to be as immersive as possible. To achieve this, the game does without a minimap and tooltips that are not absolutely necessary. The interface should also be designed to be as minimalistic as possible.
When is the release of Embers Adrift? As of now, no exact date for the release of Embers Adrift is known. However, the game is supposed to be released in 2022, as emphasized again in the developer video at the beginning.
Regarding the gaming platform, currently only a PC release is planned. As a funding model, the game will be released as Pay2Play – you will pay in a monthly subscription model to play the game.
