Embers Adrift is a new MMORPG that is set to release in October. The launch trailer for the title has already been released, but some fans were surprised by the upcoming release.
What kind of game is this? Embers Adrift is a new sandbox MMORPG being developed by Stormhaven Studios. The title is set to release for PC on October 15, 2022, and will rely on a monthly subscription model for funding.
In Embers Adrift, a large part of the player experience will consist of crafting and exploring the open world, which is why the MMORPG focuses solely on PvE and will not feature PvP. To enhance immersion, the game will do away with a minimap.
Additionally, the quests are not merely missions for farming items or resources, but will advance the story of the MMORPG.
Why are fans surprised? The launch trailer for Embers Adrift shows the release date of the MMORPG and alerted fans of the game that the release is coming up in October.
Many were apparently unaware of the imminent release, as a comment from user Joe Leonard on YouTube shows. He writes: “I didn’t know the release was so close!”
Another user was also surprised by the upcoming release when he noticed that there are only about 2 weeks left until the launch: “Wow, ok, 15 days. I will give it a try.”
Giant Ants and Ruins
What does the trailer show? Although the trailer is only about 30 seconds long, it gives us some impressions of the game alongside the release date.
In the first half of the trailer, we see various areas of the MMORPG. In addition to a cave and some ruins, a forest is also presented to us.
In the second half of the trailer, the action follows. We see players engaged in a fight with giant ants. Afterwards, the players explore a ruin-like cave, where a giant anteater awaits, presumably ready for a fight as well.
