The journey to Northrend in WoW Classic begins. The launch trailer for WotLK Classic convinces with a lot of nostalgia – and a lot of Arthas.
After many years of waiting, the time has finally come for many. The second expansion of World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King, launched in its Classic variant on September 27, 2022. The access to Northrend has been opened, and thousands of heroes pour into the icy lands to face the Lich King in the challenges of Northrend.
To convince the undecided or simply to spark a little nostalgia, Blizzard has also released a beautiful launch trailer.
The journey through the areas and various content is accompanied by the infamous voice of Arthas Menethil, who most now probably know as the Lich King.
After all, Wrath of the Lich King as a whole is part of the grand plan of the Lich King. He wants to lure the heroes to Northrend, make them undergo numerous trials there, to ultimately kill them and then resurrect them as powerful soldiers of the Scourge.
The trailer also provides a glimpse of all the content that will be available during Wrath of the Lich King:
- 9 new zones
- 12 dungeons
- 3 raids
- 2 PvP battlegrounds
- Achievements
- New hero class: Death Knight
Even though the actual battle against Arthas will only take place at the end of the expansion in Icecrown Citadel, excitement seems to be high.
A look into Wrath of the Lich King Classic is also worthwhile for those who play Retail (Shadowlands, Dragonflight). Because if you bring a Death Knight through the starting area, a very special mount awaits you in modern WoW.
Have you already begun your journey to Northrend? Or are you waiting for the initial surge to subside?
