The Dino Adventure ARK: Survival Evolved has been very popular for years. 5 years after release, the somewhat crazy story is set to be expanded with new cutscenes.
What kind of game is ARK? ARK: Survival Evolved allows players to fight for survival on a mysterious island. But besides the usual survival activities like gathering food, ARK impresses with a constantly growing selection of dinosaurs and other creatures.
You can tame, breed, battle, and ride these prehistoric and mystical creatures. With its designated PvP and PvE servers, there’s something for everyone: depending on preference, players can face off against other players or gigantic boss creatures.
There is a story as well, and it’s pretty outlandish. What started on a single small island turned into a fairly large universe with a complex storyline. The narrative was initially told through scattered notes on the island.
New story content is set to be introduced in December, including cutscenes and the voice of David Tennant.
Studio Wildcard wants to raise excitement for the new update
What is this update about? Part two of the Genesis expansion is the latest paid DLC for Ark: Survival Evolved, adding new areas, biomes, creatures, and missions for which players will receive rewards upon completion.
Studio Wildcard, the studio behind ARK: Survival Evolved, announced new story content for December on November 7, along with a teaser trailer. We have embedded the trailer for you here.
What do we know so far? Not much is known about the update yet. The trailer doesn’t show any gameplay footage, but a huge Oculus can be seen, which players will presumably be confronted with at the end of the story.
What Studio Wildcard has revealed is that the story will be expanded with the new update. There will be cutscenes for the introduction and conclusion of each ARK map. Also, a few familiar voices are expected to return:
David Tennant, known for his role as Doctor Who, and Madeleine Madden from the “Wheel of Time” series will reprise their roles as Sir Edmund Rockwell and Helena Walker in the second part of the Genesis expansion of the game.
Studio Wildcard also announced that Helena’s and Rockwell’s research notes and dossiers will be voiced by the popular actors.
When can we expect the update? There is no fixed release date for the story content yet, but the developers have confirmed that it will be available in December for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.
The development team of Ark: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard, is currently hard at work on Ark 2, which will feature Hollywood action star Vin Diesel. Unfortunately, there is still no confirmed release date for the anticipated sequel.
