Valorant offers you options for skin upgrades. However, if you ultimately prefer the old version, you can no longer use it. Players would like this to be different, and so would Riot. However, there is currently a lack of resources.
What is the problem with the skins? In Valorant, you can unlock skins or buy them in the shop. But this is not the end of customization. Some skins have additional special effects and variants that can be unlocked with Radianite Points. Only in this way do the otherwise unspectacular dragon skins become living objects that breathe fire and move.
However, the system has a catch. If you later realize in the game that, for example, the twitching of the dragons or the ghost sounds of the Oni skins annoy you, you have no way to revert these unlocked effects. The skin upgrade remains, and you have to live with it, whether you like it or not. There is currently no downgrade option, and if you are not careful, you will permanently ruin your skin.
Riot wants a downgrade option, but not now
What does Riot say about it? The issue of skin downgrades and its problems are known to the developers at Riot Games. However, this topic is apparently more complex than it seems and requires significant resources from the studio. This, in turn, would impact content and important game fixes, which is why such a downgrade function will likely not be available in the near future.
However, they want to introduce the option later, but probably only in the form of a gradual downgrade. So you can downgrade from Level 4 back to Level 3. According to their own statements on the developer blog, Riot does not want a completely free customization where you can, for example, only turn on the animations and not the audio effects. You will probably only be able to activate or deactivate the individual stages of the upgrade in the specified order as desired.
However, it has not yet been said when this feature will come into the game, but they are working on it and keeping it in mind. Until then, you should carefully consider which upgrades you purchase and which ones you do not. Because the decision could haunt you for a long time and ruin the expensive skins.
