The whole republic is groaning under the heat wave, but seasoned gamers only give up when the last processor core has melted away. So this weekend, a variety of games are on the agenda.
The weekend is approaching and promises sunshine. Unfortunately, the sun is just too intense right now. So, those who don’t want to risk heatstroke or sunburn prefer to stay indoors, set the fan on, lower the blinds, and start up the hopefully well-cooled PC or console to play a few rounds. But what is worth playing right now?
Games for the weekend – Off to Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV!
Fans of complex online role-playing games received the heavyweight expansion Stormblood for the successful MMO Final Fantasy XIV this week. In it, you will discover a beautiful region in the east that you are supposed to liberate from the empire and its cruel rulers.
You can learn the new classes of Red Mage or Samurai and even swim and dive in the sea. Those who want to start fresh or are lagging behind can buy a boost to the level of Stormblood for real money.
Games for the weekend – Colorful action buffet or virtual creatures?
If you prefer short-term action, you can check out the recently released coop top-down MOBA game Master X Master from NCSoft. The game offers something for everyone’s taste. You can play it as a single or coop top-down shooter in PvE. Or you can battle each other in 3vs3 deathmatch or 5vs5 MOBA mode. Alternatively, there are also fun mini-games. You have 37 heroes to choose from, with some coming from other NCSoft games.
Those who dare to step outside despite the sweltering heat can try out the new features of Pokémon GO. For example, the reworked arenas or the new raids that were recently added to the augmented reality app. Also interesting for mobile fans: The beta for the glossy MMO ArcheAge Begins is currently freely accessible on Android devices.
What is the editorial team playing?
We from the Mein-MMO editorial team will not be put down by the worst heat and have a whole series of cool games that we are looking forward to after work:
- Schuhmann is looking forward to extended excursions in Stormblood and will otherwise play his beloved Marvel Future Fight on the iPad.
- Ttime returns to his roots. This, of course, means he will be playing Destiny and FIFA over the weekend.
- Patrick will face the heat wave and try out the new arena features in Pokémon GO. But before he melts away, he will go back into the cool home and play GTA Online to collect money for the leaked cars.
- Cortyn has to help with a move and will therefore only play “Moving Simulator 2017” at most.
- Leya is currently on the road and will not have much time to play.
I, Jürgen, will mainly be playing Master X Master this weekend and might finally play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds more often. And there’s still so much to do in ESO!
