With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the new Season 2 has officially started. Included are 2 new base weapons from the Battle Pass – the Grau 5.56 and the Striker 45. But how do you get these two new firearms?
Season 2 is here: Finally, it has arrived. On February 11, the new Season 2 started for CoD: Modern Warfare. This has already brought numerous new contents – including 2 new weapons. More content is expected to follow throughout the season.

What new weapons are available? The two new weapons are:
- the assault rifle Grau 5.56, which is modeled after the design of the Sig 552 Commando.
- the submachine gun Striker 45 in the style of the LWRCI SMG 45, which also closely resembles the HK UMP.
How do you get the new weapons from Season 2?
Do the new weapons cost anything? Like the RAM-7 and the Holger-26 from Season 1, the two new Season 2 weapons are tied to the Battle Pass.
Both weapons come through the free reward branch, meaning that they can be unlocked by all players at no extra cost. You do not need to purchase the Battle Pass for the two new weapons.
What exactly do you need to do for the new Season 2 weapons? Basically just one thing: Have fun playing and diligently play Modern Warfare. Because these additional weapons are also tied to certain ranks of the Season 2 Battle Pass. You just need to level up the Pass by earning XP.
Alternatively, you can also purchase the ranks with CoD points (150 points per level). Or you can use the 20 free tier unlocks if you have purchased the corresponding large Battle Pass bundle, where this bonus is included.
This is how you get the Grau 5.56: You can obtain this new assault rifle relatively early – at level 15 of the new Season 2 Battle Pass.
If you use the tier unlocks, you can unlock this weapon immediately. If you purchase Battle Pass tiers, you will have to pay 2,250 points for it, which is approximately 22.50€.
This is how you get the Striker 45: You will need to put in a bit more effort for the Striker 45 in Season 2. You only unlock this weapon once you reach Battle Pass level 31.
While the tier unlocks from the Battle Pass bundle can help here, you will still need to level or purchase at least 11 tiers yourself.
Without the unlocks, you would need to invest 4,650 CoD points (46.50€). With the 20 bonus unlocks, it would still be 1,650 points (16.50€).
Season 2 brings a secret 3rd weapon – likely the M26 MASS
What is the deal with the secret weapon? A new weapon was announced in the roadmap for Season 2, which is still considered secret.
However, upon closer inspection of the roadmap and the launch trailer, clever fans quickly recognized – it is likely the shotgun M26 MASS.

When is the M26 MASS coming and how do you get it? When the secret weapon is coming is not known. Nor is it known how exactly to obtain it. However, fans suspect parallels to the crossbow.
This weapon was also secret and came into the game shortly before the end of Season 1. It can also be unlocked for free by all players but is not tied to the Battle Pass. The crossbow must be unlocked through an in-game challenge.
