In Path of Fire, the second expansion for Guild Wars 2, there is a fifth, secret mount in addition to the four regular mounts. By now, however, many players have discovered this mount and massive swarms of griffons darken the sky!
With Path of Fire, Guild Wars 2 has received a new expansion. A major highlight in it is the new mounts, which serve you well in the form of Raptor, Skimmer, Springer, and Warclaw. However, the crafty foxes at ArenaNet have also incorporated the griffon as a secret fifth mount into the game.
However, the cat griffon is out of the bag, and more and more players are getting this flapping beast.
Griffon mounts for everyone!
If you’re currently visiting the large city of Lion’s Arch, you should have no phobia of flapping creatures. Because it’s swarming with wings, beaks, and furry ears. The reason is the many griffons that are now cavorting in the game.
Over 25,000 specimens of the once secret flying mount have been discovered and tamed by resourceful players. The griffon was not announced apart from the mini-teaser in the group image of the mounts, and players had to figure out on their own how to obtain the creature.
Guild Wars lead is proud of players for griffon secrecy
In the forum, lead designer Mike O’Brien expressed his joy about the griffon influx. O’Brien especially praised that players respected spoiler warnings and did not wildly spread griffon knowledge.
This way, players could also find the griffon on their own and were not heavily influenced. Initially, on Saturday, September 23, there had only been 349 griffons. By Friday, September 29, there were already over 25,000. Probably, there are now even more griffons on the move. Therefore, a spoiler warning is no longer necessary; the winged creatures are hardly overlooked now.
