The Twitch streamer FIVEBYFIVEx was invited to the official playtest of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A month later, she was banned in Warzone. MeinMMO shows you what it’s all about:
Cheating is a big problem in many video games, and Call of Duty: Warzone has also struggled with nasty players using unfair means.
Recently, players reported seeing that the cheaters are back in Warzone and are wreaking havoc on the new map Fortunes Keep. Previously, there had been a relatively quiet period regarding cheaters in Warzone as the anti-cheat measures of the Ricochet system had done a good job.
“I am open to PC checks”
Why was FIVEBYFIVEx banned? As the Twitch streamer FIVEBYFIVEx stated in a tweet, she was banned in CoD: Warzone. The exact reason for the ban is unclear, but she explains the situation in more detail on the social network:
First, she was said to have received a so-called shadow ban before she was subsequently permanently banned. In response to the ban, she claimed to have contacted Activision, but was unsuccessful in her efforts. Activision informed her that a ban in Warzone is final and will not be reversed even if it is proven to be a mistake.
FIVEBYFIVEx also states that she has never cheated, used a virtual private network (VPN), glitched, or done anything similar. In another comment on her post, she also mentions that she is open to a PC check (via Twitter.com).
In conclusion, the streamer summarizes in another comment (via Twitter.com) that she has no choice but to start over. She expresses that it feels unfair and annoys her, but she can accept that the account is gone.
FIVEBYFIVEx further emphasizes that with the tweet she does not want to incite hate against Activision nor does she want her account back.
In a nearly 6-minute clip on Twitch, she explains her view of the situation in more detail. Below, we have embedded the clip for you:
Playtest at the Infinity Ward Studios
What test was she invited to? FIVEBYFIVEx shared a vlog on June 10, 2022, on Twitter that she recorded during a stay at the Infinity Ward studios. There, the streamer was allowed to participate early in a playtest of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Currently, it is not known whether the ban will affect a possible future participation in further playtests.
What do you think about the situation? Should the ban, if it turns out to be indeed wrong, be lifted even though company policy states that a ban can never be reversed? Or do you think the ban should definitely remain?
