The Canadian streamer Angela “AriaSaki” Don played some rounds of Twitch and Overwatch 2. A clip from this stream, in which the streamer loudly calls for a healer, made the rounds afterwards. The streamer defended herself after some quite nasty comments arose regarding the clip.
What is this clip about? In the clip from December 20, AriaSaki screams that she has only 8 health left and urgently needs a healer. The streamer is quite screaming. At this time, however, both healers on her team were already out of action, which is clearly visible in the kill cam in the clip.
Clip sparks discussions about double standards
How were the reactions? The clip has already gathered nearly 92,000 views (as of December 21, 3:15 PM) and is thus one of the most viewed clips of the streamer (via Twitch Tracker). The video was also shared in the LivestreamFail subreddit, the largest community on streaming topics on reddit.
On reddit, the clip received nearly 200 comments. Many accused AriaSaki of not properly grasping the situation and unjustly screaming at her healers. Based on this behavior, some users then drew conclusions about the streamer’s abilities and wrote that she is just a bronze player and at a rather low rank.
What was the discussion? However, some reddit users found this depiction quite unfair. Male streamers often get louder or behave toxically towards their teammates. But this is not posted on LivestreamFails and does not receive such negative reactions.
A reddit user writes:
“Tyler1 does exactly the same 500 times in a stream. Why are the comments in these threads so positive but here it’s the opposite?”

In fact, some big streamers like the well-known LoL troll Tyler1 have made their outbursts their trademark. Tyler1 was even so toxic that he was already banned in the chat at the start of Overwatch 2 before he could even play a single match. Outbursts are simply part of the streamer DrDisrespect as well.
Streamer says everything is just entertainment
What does AriaSaki say about it? On Twitter, the streamer commented on the clip. She disagreed with the depiction on reddit and wanted to clarify a few things.
AriaSaki explained that she was indeed aware that her healers were already dead. However, they would not have noticed the action at all since she had evidently disabled voice chat. It was simply entertainment for her viewers, and she was just in a somewhat silly mood.
The streamer demands that girls should be allowed to have fun and rage (via Twitter).
The fact that her competence was questioned due to the clip seems to particularly bother AriaSaki: after all, she is not playing with her main.
Other female streamers also struggle with their skills being doubted time and again. The CoD streamer Nadia has repeatedly faced cheating accusations.
