The gaming streamer Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo (26) is actually a tough guy and likes to criticize other streamers on Twitch. But a deal worth €260,000 with an NFT site is too hot for him. He says he is giving up the money because he is afraid of what the commentators in the reddit forum Livestreamfails would say.
This is Mizkif:
- The 26-year-old was in 2018 the camera man of the controversial streamer Iceposeidon. This paved his way to fame.
- Today, Mizkif is mainly known for his streams of Nintendo games, but also for his scathing commentary on events on Twitch. Similar to xQc or HasanAbi, he spends a lot of time engaging with other streamers on the platform. He has, for instance, extensively dealt with the scandal surrounding YouTube streamer Valkyrae.
- Mizkif says he has now received an offer of $300,000, he would just have to enter into an NFT deal. He has declined the offer.
Why should Mizkif receive €260,000? Mizkif explains that an unnamed company had offered him a promotional deal worth $300,000 to promote NFTs.
NFTs are a kind of digital artwork: they are limited pieces: NFTs can be images or GIFs that are traded online for sometimes absurd amounts. The streamer Indiefoxx sold NFTs after being banned from Twitch,
In the past, Mizkif had complained that such an NFT site sold clips that he posted online.
“Why am I such a wuss?”
This is why Mizkif rejects the deal: Mizikif says:
I actually rejected an NFT sponsor deal worth $300,000. […] You know why? Because I didn’t want hate from Livestreamfails! […] Now I’m thinking: Hey, why am I such a wuss? Why does it bother me, why the hell don’t I just do what I want to do? What a waste. But no, I wanted to be the good boy.

What is he afraid of? The most famous subreddit that discusses things on Twitch is “livestreamfails”. The people there are known for jumping on streamers’ mistakes and commenting harshly.
Livestreamfails decides from the perspective of some streamers who is currently popular on Twitch and which clips go “viral”, generating several tens of thousands of views.
“Bullying works!”
This is how it is discussed on Livestreamfails: They are pretty proud of their moral performance. In the comments, they say:
- “Hey, do you see this? Bullying works!”
- “We should really start bullying Jeff Bezos more”
- “Guess $300,000 wasn’t enough”
- “It would have been better if he had taken the $300,000 and sponsored 10 random people.”
Another user explains that the NFT company had sponsored Mizkif with 50 subs because, by merely mentioning them, he would already have contributed to their popularity.
A streamer who saw the clip of Mizkif was annoyed about the huge sums involved. She told Mizkif where he could shove the offer. Most streamers would have to work at least 3 years to earn that much money:
