Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo (27) is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. Companies are always looking for new advertising partners to showcase their product to the masses. According to his own statements, the streamer recently received a deal from a casino website that offered him the equivalent of 9.3 million euros.
What exactly was the deal? The streamer revealed 2 details from the offer:
- Mizkif was to play on the casino website for 15 hours a month and stream his gameplay live on Twitch.
- As compensation, he would receive 9.3 million euros ($10 million) a year.
Streamer rejects $10 million for “moral reasons”
What did Mizkif say about it? Before he even mentioned the amount, Mizkif said: “You have to understand, I’m a person and I’m only damn 27 years old – seeing such numbers. I’m honest with you: Did I think about it and consider accepting? Yes, I did.”
However, he declined it for moral reasons. This isn’t the first time the Twitch streamer has rejected a lucrative offer. In the past he declined an NFT deal because he was afraid of nasty comments on reddit.
However, he struggled with the decision because this money could have changed his life forever. Not just his, but also that of generations and his family. Additionally, he could also donate some of it to charity.
In the Twitch clip, you can see how Mizkif talks about the offer:
Viewers can’t believe it and spam in the chat: “Do it!”
What do his viewers say about it? Normally, casino streams are very controversial on Twitch, but in Mizkif’s chat, there was a lot of support. “Do it!”, they spammed massively in the chat. Furthermore, they said things like:
- “It doesn’t matter what we think – just do it!”
- “Do what you want.”
- “Dude, you’re dumb if you don’t accept the offer.”
A few voices naturally appealed to morality and reason. Mizkif should not accept the offer because he is a role model.
However, the broad majority was in favor, and the streamer then grinned and said: “It doesn’t make it easier when you all say I should damn do it. I didn’t think you would say that.”
Why did Mizkif reject the deal? Another reason for his rejection of the deal was apparently that he would have to move back to Canada. Mizkif currently lives in Texas, where strict rules regarding gambling apply. Classic gambling, such as participating in casinos, is considered a criminal offense. Exceptions are only public lotteries and bets on dog and horse races.
Mizkif did not want to live alone in Canada, not even for 9.3 million euros. The viewers then directly said: “Ew, okay, no. Then don’t do it” and “No, it’s not worth it.”
