Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (35) is one of the biggest streamers on German Twitch. It has almost become normal to launch a product or two. Now, the streamer revealed his secret project, but the reactions are rather mixed.
What is behind the “passion project”? MontanaBlack has repeatedly talked about a secret project over the past few weeks. He has been working on it for over 2 years, investing all his savings, over 1.5 million euros.
The mysterious project was also one of the reasons the Twitch streamer stated for not being able to switch to the competing platform Kick. Viewers speculated what could be hidden behind the secrecy: Disposable e-cigarettes, which have been speculated about for a while, or even a streaming platform of his own?
In a video from July 2, 2023, MontanaBlack finally revealed what he has been working on for the past few years.
What is behind “Gönrgy”
So what has it become? Under the name “Gönrgy”, the new energy drink from MontanaBlack will be available in stores starting July 20. There will be 3 varieties, supposedly sugar-free according to the video, with plant extracts and vitamins. “So that you can enjoy it with a clear conscience,” the streamer said.
How are the reactions? They are quite mixed. Among the comments on YouTube, there is much support for MontanaBlack: The trained retail salesman and “attic rascal” has come a long way. Several fans write that they wish him success.
From others, there is biting mockery, joking: Finally, an influencer is bringing a drink to market. Collaborations with major brands or even products from content creators are not exactly new:
- The Fortnite streamer Ninja got in trouble for his energy drink with cotton candy flavor
- The largest German streamer earned 1.3 million € last year with vitamin water
- There are also sugary drinks from rapper Capital Bra as well as Shirin David and Katja Krasavice
MontanaBlack himself recently said that he would have liked to launch his own iced tea under the name “MonTea”, but then “every Tom, Dick, and Harry” launched their own iced tea, and he got tired of it (via YouTube).
Why it was specifically an energy drink, the streamer did not reveal. However, he did say that he would not just lend his name to the product, but that it was made with a lot of love – and money – and comes from the heart.

Isn’t something missing?
What bothers people? On Twitter, the mockery continues. There, users are particularly puzzled about the name of the energy drink. The neologism from “gönnen” and “Energy” raises questions: Is there not a second “n” missing? Or is it pronounced like “Döner”?
