The Twitch streamer “Tasty” announced that he has received a shadow ban in Call of Duty: Warzone. His account is being reviewed for suspicious activity. The streamer only took 2 days after the start of Season 5 to reach the maximum season level of 1,000.
Call of Duty switched its prestige system to a season system a few years ago. Previously, players would reach a set max level, manually reset their progress, and then play back up to the max level at a higher prestige level.
Your level resets each season today, but you retain all your unlocked items. You get 1,000 season levels to progress and can unlock a lot of cosmetics and challenges with that.
Reaching season level 1,000 is a real achievement. If you just play Warzone, it takes ages to even come close to the maximum. The Twitch streamer “Tasty” used a little trick and achieved the 1,000 levels of Season 5 in just 2 days.
However, he is now under suspicion of cheating.

Too well leveled: Streamer receives shadow ban
On September 3, 2022, Tasty tweeted:
He noticed during his matches that matchmaking takes significantly longer and that he is now constantly facing cheaters. Clear signs that he has received a shadow ban.
Upon inquiring with Activision, he found out that his account is currently “Under Review.” So Tasty actually received a shadow ban and is now only playing with accounts that are also “Under Review.”
For the streamer, it’s clear: the review is about the fact that he reached 1,000 levels in Warzone within 2 days. Without cheats or unlock tools, this is hardly explainable at first glance.
How did he do it? Tasty discovered a very effective method for boosting account levels. This works particularly well on the small map “Fortune’s Keep.” Additionally, his method was enhanced by the current event “The Last Stand.”
- Land at the POI “Keep” and open crates like there’s no tomorrow
- Each crate gives 200 XP for opening and 200 XP for the event token
- In the game mode “Resurgence,” there is likely a “Buyback” every round
- Collect plenty of cash from the crates and use the buyback to purchase armor bundles
- The bundles only cost you 300 cash in the buyback but provide 550 account XP
This method has been a thing since the introduction of buyback events, but is still little known. Due to the excessive use by Twitch streamer Tasty, this has now changed, and a nerf might be coming soon.

However, you should be careful when using it. The ban on Tasty makes it clear that the developers did not intend for such fast leveling. It is even “cheat suspicious” and could lead to a shadow ban.
