What’s behind the donations: shroud announced on Saturday, January 4, 2025, that he will host a so-called Fragathon (via YouTube). This is a livestream event he came up with to raise money for a charitable cause.
During the Fragathon, which is set to run throughout January, shroud will donate $1 for every kill he achieves. Additionally, Twitch subs (subscriptions viewers can purchase with streamers) and donations to the streamer will increase the dollar-per-kill multiplier. This means that later in the event, possibly $5 per kill will be donated. Furthermore, 100% of the income from subs, bits, and donations will also benefit a good cause.
Moreover, shroud invites fellow streamers to join him during the event and contribute kills for the Fragathon from his house. This will also be complemented by IRL events and challenges that increase the kill counter when not gaming.
What will the money be donated for? shroud lost his father to lung cancer in 2023. In announcing the charity event, the streamer said he was looking for ways to support people in similar situations. That’s how the idea of the Fragathon was born.
However, shroud does not yet specify in the first announcement who will receive the money and whether he will do so through a charity organization.
