For Call of Duty: Warzone & Modern Warfare there are now Twitch Drops available on selected channels. MeinMMO shows you how to activate the drops and what you can collect.
Through an Activision blog post, the creators of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone have now announced that you will receive Twitch Drops if you watch certain streamers of the shooter.
Update July 17: According to Activision Support, they have fixed the error, and it should now be possible to link your Twitch and CoD accounts without issues.
Due to the error, the promotion has been extended and now runs until Tuesday, July 21 at 7 PM.
Update July 14: There are issues with connecting CoD accounts to Twitch accounts. Activision is working on the problem. It is not yet known if the promotion will run longer because of this.
If you are affected, you can send a message in English to the “Activision Support” account on Twitter with the following information:
- Activision / CoD email address
- CoD gamertag
- Your region
- The platform you are using
- A brief description of the problem
What do the Warzone Drops look like? You can collect a total of 3 items that can only be “unlocked” by participating in this promotion:
- Funny Spray – 1 hour
- “Love the Bomb” Emblem – 2 hours
- “Bloodstream” Blueprint for the Grau 5.56 – 3 hours
The spray and the emblem are nice, but the highlight is definitely the Grau 5.56 blueprint.
Especially for newcomers to Warzone, the weapon drop is exciting because you directly get one of the best weapons for Battle Royale in your inventory. The weapon handles nicely and is a very good choice for medium ranges, and the setup with which the weapon comes should work well in Warzone.

How long does the promotion run? The promotion runs from now until July 21 at 7 PM our time.
How do I activate the drops? To register for the drops, you need to follow the steps below:
- You need a CoD account – Create a profile on the CoD website. If you already have a profile, log in.
- Now “hover” your mouse over your profile name in the top right corner and select “Account Linking” from the drop-down menu. Scroll down and link your Twitch account.
- Watch Warzone or MW streamers who have “Drops enabled” or something similar in their titles. On the stream page, you will see a message from Twitch under the title indicating whether the drops are really activated.
- Claim the drops – Once you qualify for the distribution, you will receive a notification on Twitch with the final steps.
If you want to earn more blueprints, try the duo tournaments of the multiplayer that are currently running or solve the puzzle of Bunker 11.
Can anything go wrong? You should pay attention to two things:
- Is my CoD account linked correctly?
- Does Twitch show me that the drops are activated?
This morning (July 10, 11 AM), there were issues linking accounts, causing the process to break off before the linking was fully completed. If you have problems linking, try again later.
Under the title of the stream, you will receive a hint whether you activated the drops correctly. If it says “Activate in-game drops by linking your account.” you have to go back and something didn’t work properly. Once it says “Drops activated! Watch to receive loot” you are participating in the drop promotion.
How can I get the drops faster? The Activision blog post points out that you do not necessarily have to watch for 3 hours to collect the weapon drop:
You can watch multiple streamers or one stream, but as long as they are “drop-enabled,” your total watch time will be calculated, allowing you to earn rewards.

In the end, your total watch time counts. So if you watch 3 streamers who all have drops enabled, you will get the blueprint after just one hour.
Call of Duty: Warzone has now been around for over 4 months and continues to offer its players a lot. New modes and items regularly come to the battle royale, and with Season 5, the map could change significantly.
Even without Twitch Drops, Warzone can count on many soldiers who regularly go to war. However, such a promotion can help to retain even more players and streamers for the title.
