In Pokémon GO trainers can encounter various monsters. A reddit user now showcases in a post his special collection of a popular specimen, generating excitement in the community.
Which Pokémon is it about? Besides the “normal” monsters that you can catch in Pokémon GO, you also have the chance to encounter some of them in their shiny form. You can usually recognize these by a different color.
However, they are relatively rare to find, which makes them highly sought after by players – especially when the captured specimen is a costumed variant. But even Pokémon with a perfect 4-star rating are popular in the community.
A reddit user has now caught various versions of a popular Pokémon and proudly presented his special haul to the community. We show you which monster it is and how the players find the collection.
Trainer proudly presents his Wurmple collection
What was caught? As the reddit user Whisk-E shows in his post, he was particularly lucky with a monster in the past. He presents to the trainers in the subreddit a picture of his Wurmple haul with the words “Are you jealous of my Wurmple collection? You probably shouldn’t be” (via reddit.com).
The picture shows a total of four different specimens. He was able to secure the bug Pokémon from the 3rd generation twice in its shiny form and another two times with a perfect IV of 100%. And that’s not all, as each one of them also sports a special party hat.

This is how the trainers react to the collection: In the community, Whisk-E’s mascot collection causes a lot of excitement. Even though the bug Pokémon and its evolutions are not particularly strong and the 4-star rating is mainly of interest to collectors, Wurmple is still very popular among some players.
Especially the shiny form of Beautifly has captivated many trainers. But several shiny hunters have also been on the lookout for the costumed form with a party hat in recent days. This form can exclusively be found during the New Year’s event in the game, which runs only until today, January 4th, 2023 at 8:00 PM local time. Thus, it is correspondingly rare.
Some trainers confirm in the comments that they are indeed a bit jealous of Whisk-E and had also hoped for a costumed shiny (via reddit.com):

Criticism of Wurmple: However, not all trainers are so enthusiastic about the bug Pokémon. Some have had rather bad experiences during its evolution and cannot understand the hype around Wurmple.
Gigabowser088 writes (via reddit.com): “I hate Wurmple and its stupid random evolution. I had two shinies so far, both evolved into Silcoon. I had a hundo [Pokémon with a 100% IV] that I would have liked to evolve into Silcoon, but of course it evolved into Cascoon. Today I caught a shiny with a hat that can’t evolve at all.”
