Routes can present some difficulties in Pokémon GO. A trainer has encountered one of the more unique types that forced him to abandon the route.
What are routes? Routes are a feature in Pokémon GO where trainers from the community can record and submit their own paths. Once approved by Niantic, all trainers can follow these routes and may encounter NPC Mateo or even find Zygarde cells.
When completing routes, you may need to overcome both some elevation and longer distances. A somewhat different obstacle has arisen for a trainer now, which forced him to abandon the route.
Force majeure leads to route abandonment
Why did the trainer have to abandon the route? As the trainer reports on Reddit and shows in a photo, the route runs right next to a river. And this river has overflowed onto the path of the route, leaving the trainer with only 2 options: wade through the water or abandon the route. Understandably, the trainer chose the second option.
Especially frustrating: the trainer was only 134 meters away from successfully completing the route. And so far he hadn’t found any Zygarde cells on that route. He might have been able to grab some in the last meters – if the river water hadn’t gotten in the way.

What does the community say about this? The community has provided answers to the author’s question of whether the path for Zygarde cells is worth it, along with some advice for the trainer.
Just use surf
, writes a Redditor referencing the main Pokémon games.Dedication to the cause is only for those who have the strongest will
, reads another comment. We are Pokémon GO players…. Of course we will enter the terrain and walk through the mud for 0 Zygarde cells at the end of the route
, is also read in the comments.Nope!!! They probably won’t even be there
, says a commentator, referring to the chance that Zygarde cells appear on a route.
What do you think about this situation? Would you have made the same decision as the trainer and abandoned the route at this point, or would you have ventured through the water?
