The anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy will be available on Steam starting Thursday, October 20, 2022. Additionally, the Vera update is coming, which continues the main story and introduces new content to the game.
Tower of Fantasy was released in August 2022. It is developed by Hotta Studios and published by Level Infinite. Until now, you could only play the MMORPG on its own client, but with the update, Tower of Fantasy will also have a Steam version.
Moreover, there are many new contents, new bosses, characters, and a new area including a capital city where the main story continues. In a stream on October 13 (via YouTube), the developers revealed more details about the update.
A desert landscape with new enemies
The Vera update is the first expansion of Tower of Fantasy. You will enter a desert landscape where you can discover new content. There will also be a new city where the main story will continue – Mirroria City. As the desert is uninhabitable, nearly all the inhabitants of the zone live in the cyberpunk metropolis.
The city floats in the air and is shaped like a pyramid. From the outside, Mirroria City is completely covered by solar panels that generate electricity inside. Consequently, it’s dark inside. Only the numerous neon signs illuminate the city. Details about the dark lore were already revealed by the developers at this year’s Gamescom.

In the desert, you will encounter new enemies. Among them is the boss Rudolph, a metal reindeer. He fights with volt and fire attacks. You may also meet the lizard-like creature Magma. It combats you with fire attacks and creates a shield around itself.
For the endgame, the developers also announce the boss Puppet Singer, who drops valuable rewards when you defeat him. Additionally, there is a boss named Abysannt Weaver, which looks like a metal giant spider.
New characters promise exciting gameplay
With the ongoing story, two new characters will also be introduced, who will be presented in the developers’ stream:
- Ruby is a shy little girl who holds her doll Dolly in her arms. By her side flies a small robot named Spark – she calls them her best friends.
- Saki Fuwa leads the security forces in Mirroria City. She has short dark hair and fights with a long sword.

Rewards for new players and returnees
Is it worth joining? The update brings events and rewards that are particularly interesting for new players. New players can complete the beginner mission “Staraph Navigation” and receive an SSR weapon of their choice 21 days after character creation, which is essentially one of the strongest characters in the game. Additionally, you get 5x golden nucleus and upgrade material.
Furthermore, the rewards for pre-registration for Tower of Fantasy are still active. Anyone who registers no later than 180 days after the launch will receive 10x golden nucleus, dark crystals, and cosmetic items. The event ends nearly 6 months after release, so it will continue until the end of the year.
Also, returnees should take a look at the new content and scoop up rewards. There are numerous cores to possibly draw new SR or SSR characters. Additionally, you will receive cosmetic items and other goods.
Can you log in with an existing account on Steam? Unfortunately, there is currently no information about this, so we will have to wait for the Steam release. The developers said in the interview that it might be possible, but nothing more specific has been promised. Whether you have to start anew on Steam or can continue playing remains to be seen.
