Starfield has faced a lot of criticism after a recently released mod. Todd Howard has now commented on this in an interview.
Who is Todd Howard? Todd Howard is Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda. He is considered the mastermind behind games like Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Starfield.
With the recent release of the Creation Kit for Starfield, it is now possible to more easily publish or download custom mods. The mods can be both free and paid.
After Bethesda published its own mod in this context, which offers you a single mission for €7, there was some criticism of this approach. Todd Howard has now commented on this in an interview.

What does Todd Howard say about this? In an interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard expressed his thoughts on the criticism regarding the €7 mission as follows:
We always try to look at what else is out there to make sure we are providing value to everyone. And where that is not the case, we will definitely adjust.
Additionally, he mentions that Bethesda thought it was a good idea to release an outfit and a weapon together with a quest, rather than just throwing in a few new accessories and components into the game

However, players got the impression that Bethesda is chopping up a faction
and selling it for 700 credits. That is not at all what we want
, says Howard.
Regarding the future approach to delivering content in the game, Howard also stated: We need to rethink both our pricing and what we offer for free, as well as how we communicate the content and really gather the community’s opinion.

How did the community react to the mod? In the community, the €7 mission in the form of the mod has been received very negatively. While Starfield currently holds 59% positive reviews on Steam, the recent reviews look much worse.
