As confirmed by developer Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall is getting a battle royale spin-off called Apex: Legends. It is expected to be a free-to-play game. Without Titans.
What is it about? Last week there was already a leak revealing the battle royale shooter. An announcement for today, February 4, was suspected. Allegedly, the game is supposed to be a free-to-play spin-off set in the universe of the Titanfall shooter series. The developer is once again expected to be Respawn Entertainment, which developed Titanfall 1&2.
The leaks have now been confirmed. During the Super Bowl, Respawn confirmed the existence of the shooter and that it will indeed be announced on February 4. The information comes from Vince Zampella, CEO of the developer studio, which is part of publisher Electronic Arts.
When can we expect the announcement? The stream for Apex is expected to run here at 5 PM. They want to reveal “everything” about the shooter. Here is the Twitch channel for Apex.

As Dualshockers and Kotaku report, EA has apparently recently invited influencers to test Apex. As a result, there are already some rumors on Twitter about Apex.
So far, they have not been officially confirmed. However, since the leak about Apex also comes from influencers, the rumors are likely to be realistic.
Titanfall spin-off without Titans
Are there Titans in Apex? Fans of the Titanfall games are likely to ask this question first. Unfortunately, the answer is disappointing: Apex will probably not have Titans. This is reported by sources who have already been able to test it.
These rumors are currently circulating about Apex:
- Apparently, there are character skills in Apex that are reminiscent of Overwatch
- Up to 60 players are on one map
- Maximum of 3 players per group
- It is supposed to run on a heavily modified version of Valve’s Source Engine

- The game is expected to be financed through a cash shop and microtransactions
- Apex is supposed to be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One
When is Apex supposed to be released? According to the leaks, it should be tomorrow, on February 4 or 5, 2019.
