Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on March 25, 2022, mixing loot shooter elements with fantasy and humor. Here you can find details on topics such as download, content, and more that you should know before buying.
What kind of game is this? Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands takes place in the Borderlands world but has a distinct fantasy twist.
What’s the catch? In fact, you play characters within a fantasy tabletop RPG led by Tiny Tina – similar to the popular Borderlands 2 DLC “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep,” but much bigger.
From the game, you can expect these features:
- Typical fast-paced Borderlands shooter mechanics
- … but mixed with magic and fantasy-themed melee weapons
- Endless loot
- The familiar comic style from Borderlands
- Plenty of humor, jokes, and references
- Co-op gameplay with up to four players
- Split-screen on consoles (4 players on PS5 / Xbox Series X | S, 2 players on PS4 and Xbox One)
You can find the comprehensive test by MeinMMO author Maik Schneider here.

Setting and Content
What’s in the Wonderlands? As mentioned earlier, you are playing the story of a tabletop RPG led by Tiny Tina. Accordingly, it will be fantastical – instead of Borderlands psychos, you will be faced with skeletons, goblins, or even land-dwelling shark monsters.
Fitting the setting, you can choose from 6 classes, all of which have magical elements.
- The Brr-Serker focuses on heavy melee combat
- Clawbringer has a wyvern companion and a magical hammer
- The Spellshot operates from the shadows and deals critical damage
- Spellshot can cast spells from both hands
- The Graveborn taps into dark magic
- Spore Warden harnesses the power of nature to destroy enemies
A detailed insight into the classes of Wonderlands and a survey of which one you start with can be found here:
As far as gameplay is concerned, you can look forward to the usual Borderlands madness with crazy firearms, numerous abilities, and plenty of loot.
However, this is complemented by spells that replace grenades in Wonderlands and are meant to create real visual spectacles. Additionally, the melee weapon system has been refined. With swords, axes, and all kinds of fantasy weapons, you can engage enemies and perfect your builds.
Important: Your characters are not pre-made. There is a large character editor that allows you to customize how you want to look.
Open World, but Different
A special map: A unique feature of the Wonderlands is the “Overworld.” This map corresponds to a game board, where you see your characters from above and do not play in first-person perspective.
This overworld connects the “normal” shooter areas but has its own challenges. Here you can collect loot, trigger sudden battles, or discover entirely new areas.
Multiplayer Options
How to play together: Borderlands-style, you can tackle everything in the game together. You can choose:
- Whether you play “Co-op,” where suitable loot appears individually for all players, and enemies are adjusted to the respective levels
- Or play “Co-op competition,” where everyone has the same loot and the level of the enemies is adjusted to the group leader – and not to all players
How many can play? Basically, you can play Wonderlands with four players when you’re online.
Additionally, there are split-screen options on consoles:
- On PS4 and Xbox One, there is a split-screen in two
- On PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, even four players can share the screen
Furthermore, there is crossplay with all platforms. So you can play online with everyone and anyone.

The Season Pass will expand the game with new challenges and even a seventh class. A total of 4 content drops are planned to be released over time.
However, they can also be purchased individually if necessary.
In Borderlands 3, there were also constant hotfixes and updates that added weapons or launched events. Whether this will also be the case for Wonderlands is currently not known.
