Thanks to the Free2Play payment model, the barriers are very low to at least try out Throne and Liberty. But how many have taken advantage of the offer so far? Amazon Games reveals the “Player Count” after one month.
How many players have played the MMORPG? According to a post on X from Amazon Games, 4,527,940 players have played NCSoft’s new online role-playing game in the first month. Since it refers to the “Unique User Count”, the number of created characters must be significantly higher. For comparison: On October 7, 2024, there were still more than three million players.
Additional statistics from the developers:
- The total playtime after the first month was 133,087,895 hours.
- Malakar is the deadliest boss of the first month, with 4,067,330 defeated characters.
- 85,167,335 characters have fallen victim to a PvP confrontation.
- 227,778,039 contracts and 996,908,442 quests were completed in the first month.
- Wolves, Gallu Knights, and Black Bears are the enemies that were defeated the most (each over 100 million times).

Player ratings increasingly positive
How many players are currently playing? This question can at least be answered for Steam. According to steamdb.info, there were at times 173,309 players online in the MMORPG within the last 24 hours. The number has halved since the all-time high at launch (Peak: 336,300 simultaneously active Steam users).
This significant drop in player numbers is completely normal and can be observed in almost all online games during the first few weeks. However, it is exciting that Steam users’ reviews are increasingly positive.
While the average rating for the overall period on Steam is still “Mixed” (68 percent positive), reviews from the past 30 days show “Mostly Positive” (72 percent positive reviews).
The positive trend is likely to continue as Amazon Games has announced various changes and improvements for Throne and Liberty, which have been very well received by many players.
