In Throne and Liberty the weather actually affects the game world. Especially rain and wind not only change abilities, but also play a significant role in PvP.
What can the weather do? Throne and Liberty uses weather not just for aesthetic effects or visibility conditions, but integrates it directly into gameplay. Different weather conditions affect environmental interactions, abilities, and even the strength of monsters and their drop rates.
Moreover, players at the top of the leaderboard can influence the weather. They receive a special ability to trigger storm winds, heavy rain, or darkness, which they can strategically use in PvP. For example, rain blocks an attack path to “Castle Rockwatch.” Wind, on the other hand, affects the range of projectile weapons.

The Weather Cycles
Where can you read the weather? There are three main types of weather in Throne and Liberty: sunshine, rain, and wind (in weak or strong form). Sunny weather is the default state, where the sky remains clear. Rain occurs randomly. However, it is likely that after about two hours of sunshine (120 minutes), a 30-minute rain phase will occur.
Similar to the rain, the wind does not follow a fixed schedule. It occurs randomly and can vary in strength, from light to strong wind. This means that it can differ regionally and may be more strongly perceived in certain areas.
You can read the weather in-game, but there is no specific symbol for sunshine. Rain is visually represented very well, as raindrops splash against the screen. You can read the wind direction and strength mainly on the minimap. A symbol with text shows the wind direction, indicating which way the wind is blowing and whether it is weak or strong.
Sun
The most obvious feature of sunshine is access to certain locations. When it rains, many paths become inaccessible, like the channels beneath “Castle Rockwatch.” In sunny weather, players can use these paths as an alternative attack route – however, during rain, they are flooded and thus inaccessible. Since sunshine is the normal state, only rain and wind can increase the drop rate and the spawn tables for certain items and monsters.
Rain
In this weather, some abilities are enhanced. Lightning attacks with the staff, for example, can jump to multiple enemies in the rain. However, rain can also strengthen monsters. Plant-like monsters, for instance, take less damage in the rain. Additionally, rain blocks some paths in the game or opens dungeons that are otherwise closed.
Wind
Wind primarily affects flight ability and the range of projectile weapons. With strong tailwind, the range of arrows increases, while headwind reduces range. In PvE, this is hardly noticeable; however, in PvP, it is.
Wind can also affect gliding behavior, allowing players to reach higher places with tailwind. Conversely, with headwind, it becomes more difficult to climb positions that would otherwise be easily accessible.
Rain Schedule – where can I find a schedule for rain?
There are several sources online where you can find the current rain timer for Throne and Liberty. For example, go to the website maxroll.gg and check the “Rain Schedule” section on the right side. If you set the region to “Europe” there, you will know exactly when it will rain on your server, down to the minute.
An alternative in German can be found at questlog.gg, where the overview of the rain timer takes up a full page. Of course, you can also set different time zones here.
Influence the Weather Cycle
When you are preparing for the large guild battle for “Castle Rockwatch,” you can influence the weather to your advantage. If you are currently at the top of the following leaderboards, you will receive the respective ability:
- Transcendent Power: Storm Wind
Effect: Summons strong gusts of wind in the direction of vision for 10 minutes
Earned: 1st place in the growth leaderboard - Transcendent Power: Heavy Rain
Effect: Calls forth heavy rain for 10 minutes
Earned: 1st place in the activity leaderboard - Transcendent Power: Darkness
Effect: Summons a solar eclipse lasting 10 minutes
Earned: 1st place in the kill leaderboard
The ability is only available to the current top player on the server, has a cooldown of twelve hours, and requires five commander seals.
The influence of the weather is noticeable during gameplay, but is hardly relevant in PvE. However, it plays a different role in PvP, when the rain may block an attack route or the wind affects the range of projectile weapons. It becomes especially significant when leaders of the leaderboards actively change and use the weather to their advantage, which can significantly influence the outcome of a battle.
