In Throne and Liberty, Lacune is a level 40 boss housed in the cooperative dungeon Cave of Desperation. MeinMMO reveals its mechanics and how you can defeat it.
Where can you find Lacune and what can it do? Lacune is a level 40 boss from the cooperative dungeon Cave of Desperation and has the same attacks as its stronger version from the Cave of Destruction. You can reach it either through the dimensional circle in the north of Vienta or through the menu in the game. After selecting the dungeon and the respective group search, you will be teleported inside.
You can attempt the cooperative dungeon with friends by forming a group beforehand, or you can try your luck with the random search, which is currently very rewarding. However, Lacune is a dangerous boss, and if you do not know the mechanics, it can take you out with a single hit. MeinMMO reveals what you need to watch out for.
Here you can find out if Throne and Liberty can also be played Free2Play:
Blood Mist AoE
The probably most dangerous attack of Lacune is the area attack that looks like a blood mist. As soon as the giant ant screams incomprehensible words, a pillar rises from the ground and then the boss emits a red cloud that can wipe out all players on the spot.
To avoid this, as soon as you hear the screams, you must either jump onto the pillar that appears or run to the four rocks that are permanently located in the arena. Be careful not to get stuck while climbing up; this definitely requires some practice.
Poison and the Ant on the Rock
Right after the blood mist attack, Lacune flies into the air and spits poison at the players, which can cause significant damage. If you have positioned yourself on one of the rocks after the scream, quickly look around. On one of the rocks, there is an egg from which an ant hatches after the blood mist. All players should head there to quickly defeat the hatched ant.
Once you have defeated the ant, Lacune will stop spewing large amounts of poison at you. Healers are particularly important in this situation and need to do a lot of work to refill the health bars of group members. You can also use your healing potions to ease the burden on your teammates.
Larvae
During the fight, Lacune summons larvae that cling to players and explode after a certain time. The explosion will send you flying and cause a fair amount of damage. You can mitigate this attack by going to teammates and exchanging the larvae with them. This happens automatically as soon as you are near another player. However, each larva can only be exchanged once.
Whirlwind Attack
The boss ant also has a whirlwind attack in store for you. In this attack, it swings one of its antennae to deal a powerful kick to a nearby player, which can deal a lot of damage. However, you can easily recognize the whirlwind attack by the purple circle that forms on its body to block the attack.
For a perfect block, wait until the large purple circle gets smaller and touches the inner purple circle. Then press the button to block. If you succeed in the perfect block, you can even attack with an extra ability on the same button afterward.
Small Blood Mist
Lacune also occasionally uses a weakened version of the blood mist attack during the fight. In this instance, she stands on her hind legs. However, if you attack her at this moment, the action will be interrupted, and you will only take moderate damage.
Now you should be prepared for the fight against the cooperative dungeon boss Lacune to be able to take it down.
