What do I need to know about fishing in Throne and Liberty? In the new MMORPG, anyone can grab a fishing rod and go fishing without any prior knowledge. Those who are patient will even receive their first fishing rod as a gift from adventurer Percy in Vienta as part of a chapter 3 quest.
Alternatively, you can also buy a fishing rod from a contract coin trader for 300 contract coins. There, you can also buy a bait chest containing 50 baits every day for 20 contract coins.

What do I do with the rod and bait? You need to equip them, just like your peacekeepers and clothes, so they appear in the character window (shortcut: P) to the left of your two weapons. Then, go to a sufficiently deep body of water, click on the fishing icon in the skill bar (shortcut: CTRL+F), and cast the line by clicking F.
Once a potential catch grabs your bait, you can start the fishing mini-game with Q. Your task now is to counter the fish’s movements with A or D (always steer against its pulling direction) to keep it in the middle until its stamina drops to zero. If you succeed, the catch will fly into your hands.

Are there alternative sources for bait? You can find bait while playing, for example, when you gather wood in the game world and find worms. Additionally, you can also buy the aforementioned bait chests in the in-game shop for 15 jewelry coins each.

What do I need to know about cooking in Throne and Liberty? You don’t need to visit a teacher for the life skill of cooking either. Just drop by a cooking stove with the right ingredients (you can find them in cities or your guild base) and you’re good to go.
While you can get many of the starting ingredients like eggs, tomatoes, honey, milk, or vegetable oil from any general trader, unfortunately, they lack salt. Tip: You can click on any ingredient and then check the acquisition method to find out where you can farm that particular food item.
What you won’t find there regarding salt: You can farm salt effectively through Amitoi expeditions. The very first one for low-level Amitoi has a chance of washing salt into your bags. This way, you can save some farming time.
