With a new trailer, the anticipation for a possible “The Burning Crusade” in WoW Classic rises. However, the video is not from Blizzard, but from a fan.
In the machinima scene, there are a few people who have made a name for themselves in recent years. One of them is the YouTuber Hurricane, who releases a new video about World of Warcraft every few months. This time, he has focused on the Black Temple from “The Burning Crusade” and has pulled out all the stops. The video is likely to surpass much of what Blizzard has released in trailers.
What can be seen? The video “Black Temple Trailer 2020” tells a continuing story. The heroes of Azeroth have cleared all dangers with the fall of Naxxramas and are now pushing through the Dark Portal into the Shattered World. Here, the dangers of Draenor are gradually eliminated – the Hellfire Citadel, the Serpent Shrine, and the Eye are being cleansed. Only after that does the whole group move toward Shadowmoon Valley to the Black Temple.
In a siege, the gates are breached, after which the actual “raid” begins. The various bosses are introduced briefly and even lightened up with a spirit healer scene – because Supremus has stepped on some of the champions.
The video ends with the heroes finished with their work, taking a short break in Shattrath. However, this is overshadowed, as the portal to Quel’Danas opens – where the Sunwell, the final raid of The Burning Crusade, stood.
How much work went into the video? According to his own statements, Hurricane worked on the video for almost 10 months – and you can see that in the final product. The amount of small details is impressive. In many scenes, there are dozens of characters, all moving and equipped with their own animations.
A special highlight: As the heroes fight through the Black Temple, their equipment also changes, piece by piece replaced by new loot. Such love for individual details is quite impressive and shows how much work has actually gone into these 4 minutes.
