A trailer highlights the new Cheech & Chong Bundle for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and showcases the two characters in action.
Which duo is coming into play? With the Cheech & Chong Bundle, two new operators make their way into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Warzone and Warzone Mobile. These were designed after a famous comedy and acting duo from the 70s and 80s and are even voiced by Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong themselves.
The actors starred in the main roles of a well-known film series during this time. Today, one might consider them as the pioneers of “stoner movies”. A film genre that depicts the stereotypes of a stoner through humorous and exaggerated representations of cannabis use.
In the trailer, you can also see the duo in action now. At least they show that they can handle weapons but haven’t lost their humor:
How do you get the duo? You can obtain the “stoner duo” through the Cheech & Chong Bundle, which you can get for 3,000 CoD points. The bundle was announced some time ago alongside Season 3, which started on April 3, 2024, and brought a ton of new content.
What can you expect? Along with the new operator duo, you also get three new blueprints for weapons through the bundle. These come with a comedic death effect that transforms eliminated enemies into human-sized joints.
Additionally, there will be two new weapon charms, a finishing move, a new loading screen, and some stickers for the weapon. The two new operators themselves are not only voiced by the actors but also bring some lines inspired by the characters and marijuana culture.
In the trailer, players can also catch a glimpse of another skin designed after Snoop Dogg. You can obtain this in Season 3 through the new Battle Pass.
What does the community say? For many, the crossover probably came as quite a surprise. One user writes in their comment under the trailer on YouTube that this is probably the strangest crossover. Another user believes that probably 70% of the player base doesn’t even know this duo.
Players and fans who still remember the movies and the duo, however, seem quite enthusiastic about the crossover. At least the comments show that they have no issues with the humor of the two in CoD. Many quote their catchphrases in their comments, and one user even writes: “I might come back to CoD for this, haha”.
Some players consider the crossover unnecessary and even somewhat ridiculous. Ultimately, it’s not just because they wish the developers would invest their time and money in more important things. One user notes that they would get banned for such lines as those given by the duo.
