What kind of sale is this? The black PS5 is a special version from the dealer SUP3R5 from the USA. Besides the color adjustment, it also includes the old logo and a matching controller.

- The sale for Europe and the rest of the world starts on January 9th, also at 21:00 our time.
The shop offers 304 units of the console in retro look. However, the stocks are supposed to be divided between North America and the rest of the world, so not all will be sold out on the first day. The consoles can be purchased starting from 649 dollars, and with a drive, you will pay 749 dollars.
Why should you be cautious? The shop SUP3R5 has only had social media channels since January 2021. Moreover, there is currently no imprint and contact address. Only a contact form is available. This lowers the credibility of the shop.
Some suspect that it might be scalpers who bought consoles in advance and now want to resell them at higher prices with simple modifications. They see a clue in a section of the FAQ which states that there is no right of return unless the console was damaged during transport.
There is also no information about where the 304 consoles actually come from.

The demand is high, despite the missing contact details
On Twitter, the dealer announced that nearly 54,000 people are on the “waiting list” for a console. One could already sign up for an email distribution list in advance, through which they received the exact times.
So, anyone who wants such a black PS5 needs luck and a certain amount of trust in the shop.
What changes have been made to the console? The dealer states on their page that each console is manually refurbished. The side panels are removed and new ones are installed. Gloves are used so that the console will not show fingerprints or grease stains.
While primarily external modifications are made to the console, the DualSense controller must be opened. This voids the warranty from Sony. You should also keep this in mind when purchasing.
However, the console is supposed to retain its warranty. The delivery date is also only indicated for “late spring 2021.”
Although there were no major modifications to the console, you should be cautious. Sony has already taken action against another third-party provider who offered new side plates for the PS5. So there is a possibility that the corporation may interfere with this dealer as well.
