What kind of game is this? Lost Ark is a game in the isometric perspective (“diagonally from above”), which you probably know from hack and slays like Diablo. However, it is a complete MMORPG, with an open game world, PvE content like dungeons and raids, an auction house, and even PvP arenas.
The MMORPG offers:
- action-packed battles
- 21 different classes, of which 15 are available at the EU release
- mini and world bosses that can be fought with other players
- housing
- relationships with NPCs
- own ships to live a life as a pirate
- PvP arenas where equipment does not matter
Lost Ark has already been released in Korea at the end of 2018 and shortly thereafter in Russia, but we had to wait for a Western version.
What happens in 2022? On February 11, 2022 (for pre-orderers even on February 8), the waiting finally ends, and Lost Ark will finally be released in the West. Prior to that, it was possible to try it out in two tests.
So, anyone who has been looking forward to the action-packed slashing can finally have their wish fulfilled.

For whom is this interesting? Lost Ark is primarily aimed at fans of hack and slash games who also want an MMORPG. The isometric perspective might be unfamiliar to classic MMORPG fans. However, they will feel right at home in endgame with dungeons, raids, and PvP content.
However, there is some criticism regarding the graphics and the shop. It contains items that some players consider pay-to-win, such as material bags, items that complete daily quests instantly, or stat bonuses through pets.
