In Call of Duty: Warzone, gas canisters have appeared everywhere after a patch. However, they are not just decoration, but can be improvised into effective bombs. Clever players have figured this out.
What’s up with the canisters? On August 5, a major update for Warzone was released with Season 5. This changed large things, such as the stadium on the map. But there were also some small things, like adjustments to the gulag weapons, new rifles, or the buy stations.
Another change that few players have noticed so far are the gas canisters. They are scattered around the game world and actually look like decoration. However, you can pick them up, ignite them, and throw them like bombs!
Clever players find ways to throw gas canisters like bombs.
This is how the canister bombs work: The gas canisters look like regular gas bottles, which are used, among other things, for grilling, and stand out because of their bright red color.
If you find such a canister, you can either shoot it directly to make it explode. You can also pick it up. Then you have the option to turn on the gas and ignite it with a lighter.
Then the canister will explode shortly after, and you should throw it away beforehand. Since your operator is likely a super soldier, they throw the canisters surprisingly far. Alternatively, you can throw it and then cause it to explode with targeted fire. The fireball is quite impressive and makes for an excellent improvised bomb.
These are the toxic gas canisters: In addition to the red explosive gas canisters, there are also yellow gas bottles. These release toxic gas that also reduces the zones during gameplay. The variant from the gas bottles releases a lot of lethal gas over a larger area that deals damage over time, but eventually dissipates.
The toxic gas bottles function just like the red bottles. So if you need a heavy bomb in the game and see such a bottle lying around, don’t hesitate to pick it up and use it as an improvised explosive device.
