The two well-known Twitch streamers Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris and Kilian “Tanzverbot” Heinrich have clashed several times in recent months. It even went so far that MontanaBlack blocked his Twitch colleague Tanzverbot on social media. Now, 15 euros ensured that the two had a clarifying conversation with each other. MeinMMO tells you what happened.
This is the backstory:
- For some time now, tensions had been brewing between the two. There were repeated discussions that escalated. In November 2021 a dispute between MontanaBlack and Tanzverbot escalated due to disagreements about casino visits and gambling.
- Eris had shown increased interest in NFTs for several months, which is why he promoted them on his Twitter channel and offered various giveaways. Some of these were heavily criticized because they featured swastikas, among other things.
- Heinrich criticized MontanaBlack for the advertising of NFTs. Especially after it was revealed that Eris promoted NFTs that were suspected of being a scam.
- Just a few days after the NFT scandal, MontanaBlack took a break from Twitch. He stated he was at the lowest point of his life, but did not explain further what he meant by that. The Twitch streamer wanted to go live again only when he felt like it.
- MontanaBlack went live one weekend and started crying as he reported how bad he was feeling (via YouTube). Meanwhile, Tanzverbot commented on this, saying that he just wanted to elicit sympathy and joked around. Eris subsequently blocked Heinrich on social media.
- Tanzverbot expressed anger that MontanaBlack was incapable of criticism, and both communities clashed.
15 euros helped MontanaBlack and Tanzverbot reconcile
How did the clarifying conversation between the streamers come about? During a livestream by Tanzverbot, MontanaBlack donated 3x 5 euros. Tanzverbot initially laughed at it and thought he was being pranked, but it turned out to be the real MontanaBlack inviting him to a Discord conversation.
Heinrich accepted the invitation immediately, and the two had a detailed conversation.
What was the conversation like? MontanaBlack sought the conversation with Tanzverbot to avoid playing “Chinese whispers” with each other. He wanted to clear the dispute. Eris explained to him that he didn’t block him because he was incapable of criticism. He even agreed with Heinrich, stating that the situation with the scam NFTs was wrong, and Tanzverbot was right to criticize him.
However, MontanaBlack did not like what happened next:
- He interpreted Tanzverbot’s joking reaction as if Heinrich was making fun of him for starting to cry during his stream.
- MontanaBlack found the reaction “interpersonally inappropriate” and blocked him because of it.
However, Tanzverbot immediately countered that he was not mocking the crying, but rather the situation itself. He did not find it very likely that the scam and the lowest point of his life happened relatively simultaneously. He thought MontanaBlack wanted to exploit the situation for damage control.
Further discussions in the conversation between MontanaBlack and Tanzverbot
What else did the two Twitch streamers discuss? Tanzverbot also asked MontanaBlack if he thought he was not doing too much advertising for NFTs and whether he had not noticed before that the NFTs could be scams, as there had been many news about fake NFTs.
Due to the amount of advertising and the NFTs that MontanaBlack promoted, Heinrich stated that it was quite likely that there were scams among them.
MontanaBlack responded to the questions with a no and stated that it was not previously ascertainable that the NFTs could be a scam. However, the streamer admitted that he should have engaged more with the topic beforehand. “I wanted too much,” said MontanaBlack about it.
Furthermore, they discussed NFTs in general and expressed themselves factually.
What happened at the end of the conversation? Both emphasized that they do not hate each other, but in fact often celebrate what they do. However, they criticized each other’s behavior and certain statements. In the future, MontanaBlack hopes that they can now meet positively, and Tanzverbot agreed that he would prefer that, but he had to see if the future would show that as well:
- Tanzverbot will continue to publicly criticize him when MontanaBlack messes up or does things that Heinrich does not agree with.
- Eris only said that it would be his right to do so, but he would prefer to resolve conflicts privately first – which Tanzverbot refused to do.
All in all, the two Twitch streamers left the conversation on good terms and still praised it in their videos and streams days later. Whether the two will now get along better will be shown in the future.
