A small yet significant change from patch 1.4 is currently causing both joy AND outrage in the community of Throne and Liberty. MeinMMO breaks down the details for you.
What is this change? Among all the new features for the upcoming Halloween event, the adjustment of the schedule for the weekly ID reset, as well as various gameplay optimizations and bug fixes, one point regarding the cooperative dungeons of Throne and Liberty almost gets overlooked:
- The completion of a dungeon with the random player search option now offers special rewards when the final boss chest is collected:
- Dimensional Soul Fragment Selection Chest: 1 Star
- Players also have a chance to receive 1x Dimensional Essence: Redemption.
Specifically, this means: From now on, anyone who registers for a random cooperative dungeon and master it with their randomly assembled team will draw additional loot from the final boss chest. The developers’ goal is clear: it should be more enticing to use the random player search option in the future.

How valuable are the rewards? So far, it has been the case that from a final boss chest of a cooperative dungeon (besides the other loot), players receive four dimensional soul fragments specific to that dungeon.
Being able to draw another soul fragment of your choice from the “Dimensional Soul Fragment Selection Chest” thanks to the random player search option in the future is a nice bonus, but nothing more. The situation is quite different for the Dimensional Essence: Redemption.
This is usually crafted by exchanging it for ten dimensional soul fragments from all six coop dungeons. In other words: Each essence normally contains 60 soul fragments (thus formerly requiring 15 targeted dungeon runs or 12 random runs with patch 1.4).
With a Dimensional Essence: Redemption, players can obtain epic rings. For epic equipment pieces and weapons, however, two Dimensional Essences: Redemption are needed each. Being able to simply draw one of these essences from a boss chest is likely to present a huge incentive for many players. However, it remains unclear how high the chance for the item actually is.
More loot with some luck is good, isn’t it? Actually yes. Many fans of Throne and Liberty are therefore pleased with the change.

- Noeyiax celebrates on Reddit: “Man, this is a good change. Thanks to the developers, because whenever I do random matchmaking for a dungeon, even if half of the group knows the mechanics, it still takes at least 1 hour plus, although the dungeon should only last 10 to 15 minutes.”
- Kx97 wants to run dungeons more frequently now (via Reddit): “Good change, let me now get more than 3 dungeons per day.”
However, there are also voices that see this change critically. The YouTuber Wakayashi points out in his new video on YouTube, for example, that the random player search option can only be used alone or with a maximum of one friend. For specific coop dungeons, however, you can sign up with five people.

His comment on this: “But if you are very integrated and want to run a lot of dungeons with guildmates, then Amazon Games now says to Throne and Liberty: No, please run alone. With a game that is so gated, where you can only run three dungeons per day, is this really the way we should be led? […] I find that a bit too harsh.”
