On the PS4, the raid from The Division 2 was completed in a new record time. The time gap between PC and consoles is now significantly smaller.
New raid record on consoles: A mixed team from the TNT and ESO clans completed the Operation: Dark Hours raid on the PS4 in absolutely record time by console standards.
Previously, the fastest attempt on the PS4 was just under 20 hours and on the Xbox just over 17 hours, but the team completed the raid in 2 hours and 52 minutes!
This is not the first record for this group. A team from the TNT and ESO clans already claimed the World First title on consoles (PS4).
This is what the record holders say: After their record run, the guys promptly spoke out on Reddit. Many fans had asked them to show the PC players what they could do after the World First.
The record now shows: The raid is also quite doable on consoles – and in an acceptable time. They do not want to say anything bad about PC players. They just want to show that console players can keep up with the PC. This is also supported by the congratulations from some PC players. They still have a long way to go to reach these console times on PC.
“You can do it on consoles too!” said the motivating closing words of TNT member Inkist.
What was the problem on consoles? Since the Operation: Dark Hours raid was released on May 16 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, a huge gap has opened up between PC and consoles. This was already evident during the World First.
On PC, the fastest team took 5 hours and 2 minutes before the raid was first completed. That was just over 5 hours after the release of the raid.
On consoles, the raid was initially considered impossible by many. Already at the first boss Boomer, many players called it quits. It wasn’t until 57 hours after release that the TNT/ESO team on PS4 managed to complete it, taking over 36 hours of gameplay for the World First.
After that, the gap only grew larger. While the fastest team on PC now completes the raid in just over 23 minutes, the fastest raid on consoles had recently been over 17 hours.
Numerous players repeatedly emphasized that the raid on consoles is significantly harder due to controller control or lower frame rate compared to PC. Many urged the developers at Massive to adjust the raid on PS4 and Xbox One.
This is what this new record means: This new best time shows: Yes, the gap between PC and consoles exists – but it is apparently not as large as many fans feared.
Of course, “normal” teams on consoles will take longer, but only a few top teams on PC can complete the raid in record times. And with a time difference of nearly 2.5 hours between the records on PC and consoles, many fans can live much better with that than with 17 hours.
