In a statement on the platform Twitter, the new MMORPG New World announced that there will be a preload. You can download the game before its release on September 28 at 8:00 AM, so you can start playing right at launch. We will provide you with all the information about the pre-download.
Update 27.9: The pre-download for New World has officially started.
It shows that you need to download 37.33 GB. So, it’s slightly smaller than the previously estimated 50 GB.

What is a preload? The preload feature is offered by more and more games. This means that you can usually download the necessary files a few days before the game actually releases.
When the title is released, you can directly start the game of your choice and no longer have to wait for annoying downloads. New World guarantees you that you can be right there when it begins.
This is especially interesting for people with slower internet connections since New World is said to be a whopping 50 GB according to Steam, meaning you’ll be busy with the download for a longer time.
When can you download New World? According to the tweet from New World, the download of the game via Steam will be available on September 27 at 5 PM, exactly 15 hours before the release of the MMORPG on September 28 at 8 AM.
You have exactly 15 hours to download and install the 50 GB before the game starts with 63 servers for the EU region on September 28.
You’ll also get the preload feature if you happen to buy the title after 5 PM on September 27. As soon as you own the game and the preload is active, you can use it. So, it won’t only be players who pre-ordered the game who will have access.
Additionally, you can still receive exciting pre-order bonuses for New World if you purchase the game before it launches. There’s no deadline for that, apart from the release of New World.

What makes New World exciting? The MMORPG stands out with a unique setting on the island of Aeternum, which you must conquer and explore for one of three factions. While doing so, you will encounter an ancient power that turns humans and animals into dangerous opponents and corrupts them.
New World relies on a classless system where you are what you wear. You not only choose from 11 different weapons that suit you, but you can also choose between three armor types. So, if you want to be a heavy-armored fire staff-wielding musketeer, that may not be optimal but is definitely possible.
