A large part of BlizzCon 2019 is free and available for everyone to view. We will tell you what to expect.
In less than two weeks, BlizzCon 2019 will finally take place, and Blizzard will present new announcements and hopefully a lot of details about new and already known games. They promise it’s going to be the best BlizzCon ever. So far, no event schedule has been released, but that has now changed.
We will tell you the key dates, and we have good news for you: A large part of the streams is free, including probably all reveal events for new games.
When does BlizzCon take place? BlizzCon begins on November 1 at 7:00 PM and lasts until November 3 at 5:00 AM. The events are primarily in the evening and at night, so if you want to experience them live, you should prepare some coffee or energy drinks.
Which streams are free? As usual, the opening ceremony of BlizzCon is free and can be viewed by everyone, as well as a large part of the PvP streams where the championships of Overwatch and WoW are contested.
Additionally, the first 4 panels after the opening ceremony on the “Mythic Stage” are also free. These panels usually cover major announcements, such as a new expansion for World of Warcraft. This year, however, several announcements are expected, so there should be at least one game that most players can look forward to.
What do you have to pay for? If you want to see all the in-depth panels, such as the “Q&A” for the individual games or talks from the developers where they present specific aspects of game development, you will have to buy a virtual ticket for a hefty €40. This comes with some in-game goodies.
We at MeinMMO will report on all panels and summarize the key information in articles, in case you want to save your money.
You can view the complete schedule of BlizzCon here.
Which games will be featured? There is no exact plan yet on which games will be revealed at BlizzCon. The panels are also still marked with “Coming soon!” as Blizzard likely wants to keep the surprise. The following is therefore speculation or statements from leaks, but are likely:
- A new expansion for World of Warcraft
- Diablo IV and Diablo 2 Remastered
- Overwatch 2
- A new expansion for Hearthstone
- Another unknown game
Additionally, a release date for Warcraft III: Reforged and Diablo Immortal is expected. Furthermore, there are rumors of a new franchise and more mobile games. Whether Blizzard will announce these at BlizzCon, after last year’s disaster, remains to be seen.
Are you looking forward to BlizzCon 2019? Will you watch it live?
