Even though E3 did not take place this year, there was a substitute in the form of the Summer Game Fest, the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, and several smaller events. What was shown there and what will we be playing this year? We discuss this in the new episode of the MeinMMO Podcast.
In recent weeks, there have been plenty of news about the games we will experience in the near and distant future. Especially the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase delivered one major news after another.
What stands out directly is the absence of AAA games as new announcements. The main highlights in that segment were:
- the gameplay reveal of Starfield, the big new sci-fi RPG from Bethesda
- the remake of The Last of Us Part I, one of the most popular RPG classics
- the reveal of the final release class of Diablo 4 – the Necromancer
- the gameplay reveal of Redfall, a new co-op shooter from Bethesda
- Riot collaborates with Xbox and brings League of Legends and Valorant to Game Pass – with all champs unlocked immediately
These were all already known titles and most highlights are planned for 2023. Still, there are new game releases for 2022, including one in the AAA segment with Hogwarts Legacy. In addition, several indie games that look quite exciting were also shown during the showcases.
