The release of Throne and Liberty is approaching – at least in Korea. Players can create their own character starting November 22 and fully dive into the game on December 7, 2023. To celebrate the upcoming launch, NCSOFT has released a new trailer.
What can be seen in the trailer? In the trailer, several classes fight against a gigantic boss. The boss looks like a giant knight who pounds his opponents with his enormous sword. Both the opponent and the sword are surrounded by bright blue flames.
The following classes fight against the boss in the video:
- One character uses two crossbows but then switches to a sword that was lying on the ground. Towards the end, it seems that a mysterious power takes hold of her as her eyes glow yellow, she begins to float, and she suddenly can make lightning rain down from the sky.
- Another character comes flying in shining knight armor. He has a sword and a shield in his hands.
- Another figure enters as a raven but then transforms into an archer.
- Another raven transforms into a rogue who crouches and rushes at the boss with two daggers. With the daggers, he performs slashing attacks.
- Finally, a burning saber-toothed tiger rushes towards the boss and transforms into a fire mage holding a large staff. He masters not only fire magic but also lightning magic.
During the fight, the boss displays different mechanics. For example, he hovers into the air, only to crash down shortly after and trigger an area attack.
The trailer unfortunately does not show any real gameplay, but it gives an impression of what the classes look like in Throne and Liberty:

What classes will there be? Those looking for the classes shown in the trailer in the character editor may be confused. There are no classic classes in Throne and Liberty. We get two different weapon sets with which our abilities are defined. There will be a total of 9 diverse weapons.
The weapon switch is especially practical for such gigantic opponents as shown in the trailer. This allows players to adapt their tactics depending on the situation. The world boss shown is the “Greatsword Boss”.
Thanks to the video, we know some of his mechanics. In the past, more bosses like Malakka and Tevent have been showcased.
All bosses belong to the midgame and endgame content that is supposed to start at level 30. At the release of Throne and Liberty, there should be a total of 18 world bosses and 2 arch bosses.
When is Throne and Liberty supposed to be released? The release for Korea is December 7, 2023. The rest of the world will have to wait until early 2024 to enjoy the MMORPG. There is no exact date yet. As soon as we learn anything about the release in Europe, we will let you know here on MeinMMO.
