The TV series Arcane is set in the universe of League of Legends and initially revolves around the story of the two sisters Vi and Jinx. The series premieres on November 7 on Netflix and features a new story trailer.
This is what Arcane is about: The animated series based on LoL is set in the past according to its timeline and tells the origin stories of several LoL characters. The shining, advanced city of Piltover is considered the melting pot of art, craftsmanship, and trade in Valoran. It is a cultural center where the brightest inventors and most talented craftsmen come together.
However, wealth also has its downsides, and the downside of Piltover is Zhaun, a district that lies beneath the city. With the invention of Hextech, the balance between the two cities threatens to tip. Now anyone can harness the power of magic regardless of talent.
The central focus of Arcane is on the two sisters Vi and Jinx, who both grew up in the slums of Zhaun. The TV series tells their origin story, but other champions from Piltover and Zhaun also appear in it. These include Caitlyn, Jayce, and Victor, for example.

The co-creator of Arcane, Alex Yee, states that the series is a story of dualities. It shows how the characters are divided between the two parts of the city and how their values change accordingly. Each of them has their own merits but also flaws and vices.

When does the series start? The premiere of Arcane has been set for November 7. The series will be divided into three narrative arcs, which will be released over three weeks. The second part will be released on November 13 and the third on November 20.
You can expect that the series will start a few hours after the end of League’s 2021 World Championship, which takes place on November 6.

These are the reactions so far: Like with the previous trailer for Arcane, many fans are excited. On the official YouTube channel of League of Legends, the new trailer has garnered over 3 million views and nearly 150,000 likes since its release yesterday. The number of thumbs down is just over 1,000.
In the official LoL subreddit, the thread about the trailer (via reddit) has an impressive 16,000 upvotes and over 1,200 comments filled with enthusiasm and anticipation:

Who is involved in the production? The Netflix series is produced by the French animation studio Fortiche Productions. Longtime LoL fans will perk up at that name.
After all, the studio has created several stunning cinematics for LoL that have accumulated millions of views on YouTube, such as the KD/A video for the song POP/STARS or the video Jinxed.
The series was fully financed by Riot, as this gave the developer complete control over it. According to Jarred Kennedy, the Head of IP Business at Riot, this was necessary to ensure the required creative supervision.
