What is Swords of Legends Online? The MMORPG takes place in ancient China and revolves around a magical sword that promises great power to its owner. However, a demonic creature resides in the sword. The demon pulls the weapon’s holder towards the side of evil. The quest for the weapon is a central element in the story of Swords of Legends Online and the accompanying Chinese TV series, which delves even deeper into this storyline.
- In the game, you create a hero from six classes.
- These include Tanks, Warriors, Ranged Fighters, Mages, and Assassins.
- The classes have no gender lock, meaning you can play any class regardless of whether you create a female or male character. This is not a given in Asian games.
Here is the focus: Swords of Legends Online places special emphasis on storytelling and quests. The cutscenes and dialogues are fully voiced. However, so far only in Chinese, as there is no international version of the MMORPG yet.
You take on quests from NPCs and then explore together with friends, accompanied by suitable Asian music, large, beautifully designed zones. There, many battles await you against monsters that stem from Chinese mythology. You will face boss fights together with friends in dungeons. The battles are very fast-paced and action-oriented. You must actively dodge, for example.
The MMORPG also allows you to engage in PvP duels against other players on special maps. Furthermore, there are jumping puzzles in which you can only reach certain locations through precise jumps. You improve your hero based on levels that grant you new skills as you progress.
However, there is no open world to explore. The land is divided into zones, which can, however, be quite large. In general, it can be said that Swords of Legends Online does not bring complete innovations to the genre. It is a classic MMORPG experience that stands out with its atmosphere and graphics.
