The legendary audio play “Allimania” for World of Warcraft has been relaunched. You can listen to the first episode and decide: Is it as good as the original?
For many WoW fans from the German-speaking world, a little piece of nostalgia has been revived. The now quite old audio play “Allimania” is getting a reboot. Allimania Reloaded
is not a completely new story or a spin-off, but rather a retelling of the original story – with small changes and in modern style. The first episode was released last weekend.
Meanwhile, WoW has given the release of the new expansion a date:
What is Allimania? Allimania is likely still a name for the older veterans of WoW. The audio play was created back then alongside the “WoW Night”. It tells the story of the somewhat simple warrior Horst, who experiences the most absurd adventures in World of Warcraft with his guild “Allimania” – from couple therapy between Arthas and Illidan to the national anthem of the gnomes, a lot has happened.
Even though the original story has aged a bit, many fans still remember it well and often name their characters after the protagonists. If you encounter a “Horst”, “Dimitri”, “Raul” or a “Uschi” in the game, the reason is probably Allimania.
What kind of reboot is this? With the reboot, Steve “Stevinho” Krömer wants to retell the story. A bit more modern tailored to the current game and with somewhat less toilet humor, which was particularly strong in the early parts of the original and simply hasn’t aged well.

How does the community react: Despite many concerns beforehand, the first episode has been well received by fans. Currently, there are only 34 thumbs down compared to 915 thumbs up – which corresponds to about 95% positive feedback (as of June 10, 2024, 1:00 PM).

Cortyn says: In the first few minutes, I was quite skeptical, but I believe that the new Allimania variant is quite good – at least the first episode. It will certainly take some time to get used to the new speakers, but they are doing more than solid work. It still has the charm of the original version and feels fresh. It fits well into the new age of World of Warcraft: The War Within.
One can only hope that the other parts will keep up.
