What kind of movie is this? The Legend of Zelda is an upcoming video game adaptation based on the Nintendo series of the same name that started in 1986 on the NES. New games in the series continue to be released to this day.
This is not the first live-action film by Nintendo. Already in 1993, there was an adaptation of Super Mario Bros. In 2023 and 2026, two animated films about Mario were also released.

When is the release date of The Legend of Zelda?
As Nintendo stated in a statement (via x.com), the release has been moved up. The film is expected to be released on April 30, 2027. Since films in Germany are regularly released on Thursdays, one can even expect it to be available from April 29 here.
Is there a trailer for the film?
So far, there is no official trailer or teaser for the film. However, in 2025, initial images of the film were released, which you can view, for example, on x.com. The images show Zelda and Link.
