Call of Duty: Warzone launches its 5th season together with CoD: Vanguard. This time the large map Caldera undergoes extensive changes. You can find the most important info about the content here in a brief overview.
With Season 5, the final chapter of CoD Warzone begins. Through the live seasons, the shooter regularly brings new content into the game, providing fresh excitement. This is also true for Season 5. This time, the shooter focuses on four legendary villains who wreak havoc on the map Caldera:
- Rorke
- Al-Asad
- Seraph
- and Raul Mendez.
Season 5 of CoD: Warzone was released on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 6:00 PM German time.

The contents of CoD: Warzone Season 5 at a glance
What are the highlights of the season? As in previous seasons, Season 5 also offers several new contents. Here is a brief overview:
- Volcanic activity on Caldera
- New Gulag on Caldera
- 2 New Multiplayer maps: “Beheaded” and “Fortress”
- The Doomsday Station
- New items: Supply Drop Drone, Personal Supply Box, and Rage Serum
- New limited-time mode: Operation: Last Call
- New community event: Heroes vs Villains?
Volcanic eruption on Caldera with a fitting Gulag
What lies behind the volcanic activity? Season 5 brings some changes to the map Caldera. The volcano of the map, Caldera’s Peak, will erupt in all modes, causing lava to flow across the island.
What is this new Gulag? With the new season, Caldera receives a new Gulag, the so-called Volcano Gulag. It is visually designed to match the volcanic eruption.
Doomsday Station, Rage Serum, and other items
What is the Doomsday Station? The Doomsday Station is a device on Caldera that you can activate in Battle Royale. To trigger the Doomsday Station, you need to pay $10,000.
Once you activate the Doomsday Station, enemy AI helicopters and soldiers will surround your position. If you stay nearby and successfully defend against the attackers, you will receive a unique cosmetic watch for your operator. Additionally, you have the chance to obtain powerful items as a reward.
What new items are there?
- Supply Drop UAV: The Supply Drop UAV is an unmanned drone that you can use via Killstreak to locate unopened supply boxes near you. These will then be marked on the player’s mini-map for 15 seconds through the use of the drone. You can obtain the drone from supply boxes or purchase it at a Buy Station.
- Personal Supply Box: This is a new, extremely rare supply box where you can find your favorite weapons from Warzone. Additionally, you receive a significant XP boost from the box. You can find it by using the Supply Drop Drone.
- Rage Serum: The Rage Serum is a field upgrade that enhances your melee combat. It allows you to deal more damage with melee attacks and provides increased range.
New mode at the start of the season
What is Operation: Last Call? The limited-time mode “Operation: Last Call” will be available at the start of Season 5. It is inspired by the popular mode “Search and Destroy” where you must plant or diffuse bombs.
In Operation: Last Call, however, the goal is to destroy or defend Caldera. If you are defending the island, you must defuse bombs. If you want to assist in the destruction, you need to sabotage the island and detonate explosives at the designated spots.
Additionally, there are now lava rocks on Caldera that will crash down onto the island. You should stay clear of their landing zone. There will also be a “volcano display” that graphically represents the current activity of the volcano.
What is included in the seasonal event? The community event of Season 5 is called “Heroes vs. Villains”. In this event, you must choose a side and then lead it to victory. To do this, you collect so-called hero marks or villain marks in all game modes.
After the event, a unique weapon blueprint of the winning team will be distributed to everyone. Additionally, you have the chance to receive rewards such as the legendary animated “One-on-One” calling card, the hero or villain weapon charm, the “Conflict Spike” melee weapon blueprint, or the “Time Duality” watch.
What is there about the midseason update? With the midseason update of CoD Warzone, new content will also be introduced in Season 5.
This includes a limited-time mode called “Rebirth Supreme,” which is played on Rebirth Island. In this mode, you will compete in groups of four and are supposed to have access to the best weapons. It is also expected that revival will be activated in this mode so that a death does not mean your elimination immediately.
