The toughest achievement in World of Warcraft HC has now been achieved. No deaths, all raids, no trading – a priestess has shown the way.
Even in the Classic version of World of Warcraft, there is a lot to experience, but some seek a very special challenge. The “Hardcore” challenges have their own allure and since the introduction of the “Solo Self Found” expansion, there are some who take on this even tougher challenge.
Now the first character on an official server has accomplished everything that Classic has to offer – without dying a single time.
What kind of success is this? In WoW Classic, there haven’t really been any achievements, so the special accomplishments are recorded in the form of buffs that can be seen on the character.
A dwarf has now simultaneously earned all relevant “Hardcore” achievements on the official Classic realms, which are reflected in her “Soul of Iron” buff. These include:
- Never Known Defeat (Character has never died)
- Survivor of the Shadow Flame (Defeated Nefarian)
- Survivor of the Old God (Defeated C’thun)
- Survivor of the Damned (Defeated Kel’Thuzad)
In addition, the dwarf priestess “Dworfmane” also has the effect “Unbroken Self-Found Champion” – which means that the character has only obtained equipment between level 1 and 60 that she found herself in the world. Trading with other heroes was not possible while facing this challenge. From level 60 onward – that is, in raids – trading equipment becomes possible.
Why is there a buff missing? Anyone who looks closely will see that a success is missing from the “Soul of Iron” buff – namely the victory against Ragnaros in the Molten Core. However, this is actually a bug. On some realms, it is currently impossible to get this achievement counted, even if one legitimately defeats Ragnaros. Since Ragnaros is the easiest of the raid bosses on this list, this can probably be overlooked.
How many attempts did Dworfmane need? The player explains in the Reddit post that this did not work on the first attempt. Only the priest number 5 was able to get that far. One exists on an unofficial server, the others died on the way to level 60, mostly due to “hyperspawn” bugs where enemies respawn very quickly. We have the probably funniest loss of a HC character here.
For the time being, Dworfmane is likely finished with WoW Classic HC. Or, as she describes it in the Reddit post and quotes the famous South Park episode about WoW: “Now I can finally play the game.”
