World of Warcraft is full of secrets. This does not only mean small Easter eggs, but sometimes really long, hidden puzzles that offer various rewards. Especially during the expansion “Legion,” Blizzard started to incorporate bigger and more complex puzzles.

Secret Mounts
On the first page, we cover the hidden mounts available in World of Warcraft. But be warned: Some of these mounts require a lot of time and iron will.
Lucid Nightmare
Reward: Mount “Lucid Nightmare”
Required Players: 1
Duration: Several hours
What is better than a unicorn? A black, dark unicorn. And that is exactly what you can get in this puzzle if you show ambition and take on the numerous puzzle steps of this mount. But be warned: Some of the steps take time and endurance, and particularly the “Endless Halls” have driven many a mount collector to madness.
How long you take for the puzzle can vary greatly. Some finish within 3 hours – others spend days on the last steps because it just doesn’t seem to progress…

Otto
Reward: Mount “Otto”
Required Players: 1
Duration: Several hours
With Dragonflight, new otter mounts have been introduced into the game. Most of them are already pretty cool, but one of the otters is even cooler – because it wears sunglasses. To get this “Otto,” you need to prove your skill, especially as a fisherman. Those who have laid the groundwork here will progress faster.

The Hivemind
Reward: Mount “Hivemind” for multiple players
Required Players: 5
Duration: Several hours
There are puzzles that are exhausting. And then there is the Hivemind. Because you not only have to find 4 other players for this puzzle, but you also have to motivate them to solve some steps of the puzzle solo.
The puzzle requires many hours of preparation, and even solving the mystery can take several more hours. Those who do not keep a cool head – and especially communicate over voice – will become almost mad while searching for the Hivemind.
At least, there’s a special “brain” mount that all your companions who have solved the puzzle with you can climb into.

Riddler’s Mind Worm
Reward: Mount “Riddler’s Mind Worm”
Required Players: 1
Duration: around 60 minutes
One of the first major secrets of World of Warcraft is the Riddler’s Mind Worm. The puzzle is still relatively simple, as it is “only” a big scavenger hunt where you must find various pages in the game world.
So, if you have little time but still want to grab a rather unique mount, the Riddler’s Mind Worm is a good entry.

Long Forgotten Hippogryph
Reward: Mount “Long Forgotten Hippogryph”
Required Players: 1
Duration: Variable
The hope for a purple hippogryph has long been held in the WoW community, and with the “Legion” expansion, you could finally get it. But to get this mount, you need to spend a lot of time in the Azsuna area and click on a series of crystals before another character can succeed.
Nowadays, the competition in collecting this mount is fortunately very low – but finding the crystals can still take a while.

Fabious
Reward: Mount “Fabious”
Required Players: 1
Duration: Highly variable
Fabious is one of the easiest puzzles of World of Warcraft, which basically consists of a single step. You just wait for the spawn of a certain enemy and then have to pull out your SELFIE camera. But the waiting can take hours – and anyone who is “afk” for a moment might miss this spawn.

Valor
Reward: Mount “Valor”
Required Players: 1
Duration: Several hours
The actual unlocking of the undead horse “Valor” goes pretty quickly. The problem lies especially in the preceding tasks, where you first have to unlock Scholomance, Naxxramas, and a special vendor. However, if you have already completed that, you only need about an hour to secure the temperamental death horse.
